I know this has been covered before but now that some of you have been running these tire's what do you think of them? All I care about is offroad rocky terain, tell me what you like and don't like. Also I don't want to here from you guys with the 37's cause you suck <IMG SRC="smilies/thefinger.gif" border="0">

I had an early set (march 2000) and they weren't even close to round, so I replaced them with BFGs. Apparently GY doesn't have that problem anymore.

While the BFG is fine, most of the time, I wheel with several people who have the MT/Rs. I've lost a couple of BFGs to torn sidewalls, where my friends with the MT/Rs don't have that problem.

They are also a bit stickier on desert (hammers-type) rocks. I'll be replacing my BFGs with a set.

I have an early set as well but I never had a problem with them being out of round. In fact, the guy who delivers tires to Goodyear stores said my set was the first set delivered south of Virginia or something like that. I can't say enough about hte performance of them. They stick like glue to rocks, they have extremely tough sidewalls, and they perform better than BFG muds in the mud. I've had mine in sand and they don't do that bad there either. I think you can see my viewpoint. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

jeepgod runs a set.. and he loves them.. they have done quite well... in rocks.. and mud.. for the tire they are..

I guess they are great if Gearman says they're better than boggers. Never thought I'd hear that about any radial on this BB.

I have had my 35's for a year and 1/2 now. Both on road and off road. I love em.

I have only had one problem and that is a slow leak. I think I drove over a nail. We have lots of junk around here. I still keep it as a spare, I have just been tooo lazy to check for the leak. who cares with onboard air. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

But as for traction, I think they stick great. Even in snow/icy terain. They last way longer than the CLAWS. Friend of mine bought claws and drives way less and his are almost worn out. Mine are doing great.

yeah but the 37's are a special Offroad only rubber, thats whyI'm aiming my question towards the 35 smaller crowd. Anyone have a comparison say with bias TSL's??? or even with Boggers

I run a set of 33x12.50s on my Toyota (http://www.people.memphis.edu/~ecmills/toy_front.jpg) and they are almost 2 years old.

The sidewalls are incredibly tough for a radial tire. I've beaten them against trees, rocks, and roots at 8 PSI and they just bounce right back.

The best thing to me, however, is the tread life. I drive it daily with a rear locker (not exactly the best setup for street wear) and after 2 years, they're at about 80% tread! Even my BFG ATs weren't wearing that well.

Let me put it this way, when I torch off the independent suspension and mount a solid axle under the front, it's getting 35" MT/Rs. (If I was rich, 37s would be the ticket - when the hell are they going to make the damn things affordable?)

The only caveat I have with the MT/Rs? Ruts. I used to run pizza-cutter 33" Buckshots, and they were the ultimate rut-escaping tire. They were so narrow you could turn them to full lock in the rut of a 12.50 width tire and just claw out.

The MT/R will ALWAYS do the same thing: It will stay in the rut spinning for about 5-10 feet. Then something just happens and it hops on out in a HURRY. Unnerving at first, but you get used to it.

Add any mud to the equation (which happens a lot in Oklahoma), they plain SUCK!!

One thing I will say is that you can run a lot more air in them at trail pressure than a Swamper, therefore you get better clearance with them.

How do they do in Sand. After going from a BFG to a Swamper Radial deep, wet sand is no problem, BFG used to bog down in sand water crossings big time how do the MTR's do and maybe some pictures of them on rigs, never seen them in action! <IMG SRC="smilies/beer.gif" border="0">

Anybody know how much the 37's cost?

I've had mine for about a year now and I love them. I wish I could afford the 37's because I'm looking to bump up to a bigger tire.

anyone prefer them over the TSL/SXs? I'm running the 36" SXs right now, but I am always open to a better tire..

I disagree, you just have to air them wayyy down. Mine like 8psi but at 9 I notice that they dont do as well.

Holly sh!t! $400 each? I guess I'll have to stick with my 36" SX's for a while longer.

Lance said that he could get them for any of us for less than 400. Threw ARCA or something. I dont remember how much but I think he can get them.

you have to go thru the goodyear rep at an arca event(being a competitor helps). he (lance)was saying that he would get a bunch and sell them t bulletin board members with a commission for his time....btw

I heard that with the $300 ARCA membership the 37's cost somthign like $125. Anyone know how they last in a daily driver situation?

OK, well then Lance, what's the deal.. You got the inside on these golden tires? After adding what you need to for your time and effort, what can you let um out the door for? I've been trying to get swampers for the last month,,,, but I'm not about to be raped in the process......

Me too? I'm running 33" TSL's and love them, but would get 35" MTR's if the price was better than the 36" TSL's I want. And if they could be beat to hell like my TSL's. I still think Swampers are stronger when talking offroad only. But if it's a daily driver, maybe the MTR's are the best bet?

A friend tore a sidewall out of his 35's but other than that they are pretty impressive
