just got one because me and the dogs love A/C but are tired of mooching air off of others (and for that matter, tired of having to wait so long to get air). So, I have my 85 'Runner and I'm trying to figure out where to put the damn thing. I don't think it'll fit under the hood. I could put it above the rear axle, but I'm just not sure if I want it exposed to the weather. Then there is the air tank... that could work above the rear axle too I guess. So, I was just curious, any of you have one of these things? If so, where did you put it?

ExtremeAire Web Site (http://www.extremeoutback.com/Compressors.htm)

In short, 4 cfm at 150 psi and 100% duty cycle.

I have one, and it has been working very well. I would say probably the best electric out there. But mounting it is another story, as you know, this thing is huge. I have a 90 x-cab, and it is mounted to the floor inside the cab behind the drivers seat. It kind of annoys me when it clicks on for the ARB's but thats life. If you don't have room in the cab, I would probably mount it in he bed, and just cover it when not in use. Good Luck

my friend has one... very nice but a LOT of cash. it works awesome for tires and such, but one thing i would do that he didnt is run a small tank too. it will help keep it from turning on/off all the time with air lockers or tires or air tools, cause this thing is LOUD. it vibrates to all hell too, shakes the whole damn truck when its on.

I decided to mount it on the rear roll bar.

I'd say a powertank type setup is far better than a damn noisy compressor. Plus it's portable and very reliable. :flipoff2:

No to likely if your not handing it out to everyone. I can fill my 37's from 10-25 at least 5 times or more as well as run the ARB. I usually take it full, and I have a spare tank as wee, but I never take it on short trips.

I won't mind being a nice guy and helping others fill up their tires, especially when I'm on a club run. I've mooched enough off of others in the past.

With this I can run air tools, my future air locker (just need to drop it in now), and fill up lots of tires. I'm happy.

Besides, I just don't like the idea of a bomb stapped into my vehicle next to my dogs. That kind of stuff worries me. Then there is the effects of CO2 on the tires.... blah, I'll stick with the air compressor thank you.

 Yeah, Powertank would sell you a "bomb" for your truck :flipoff2:
