well, my landcruiser BJ42, ive torn the two front body mounts off, from big rocks, they came up and ate at my frame!! well the mounts are okay and will hold up....but for how long? they are pretty bent at the moment......maybe im wheeling with the wrong people, maybe i should learn to say NO...i dont feel like running that? maybe ill just NAW...im havin way to much fun!!

im going to cut the sill and put a slider on, and incorporate the body mounts into this for super high clearance

anyone done this or similar? the whole lot will start at the top of the frame height, the last run out to highway to hell has left my sidesteps and sills in a very damaged state!!

there is four in a particular section, 2 above the rear of the front spring and 2 above the front of the rear spring hangers, which i will cut off and bolt too...... and extend them out a fraction, to become part of the slider

it should gain me over 5" of clearance from the current sill back to the frame, pity i will no longer be able to climb into the beast!

thoughts/ideas/pictures?

Somewhere in the archives there are pix of mine, I would try and find them, but I am beat, fixin' to log off.....try searching "texican, sliders"

hey texican, you actually left the mounts on the frame....and just welded outers to them to be your sliders

im talking about removing that piece that is riveted to the frame and having the sliders come out from the top of the frame
i have a 2 inch body lift, so i cna easily start above the frame for more clearance, and remove that factory mounts that are riveted on??
they are nice though, and i amy end up copying that if i get into too much trouble.....

hmmmm with the rockers cut, i will be able to see right through above the gearbox :eek: :flipoff2:
