Is anybody just running outer beadlocks on 16.5 rims, if so what kind of pressure can you run, thinking of getting my wheels converted to beadlocks with weld on rings, just wanted to know if the inner bead blows out at around 5-7 psi. I have 39.5x16.5 Pitbull Rockers. Thanks

90% of all bead breaks are the outer bead.

im new to the 4x4 scene however i managed a tire shop for 4 years and most of the time (because the tire companys are trying to fade out 16.5) the 16" or 17 " tires will be less expensive. So instead of putting some money into wheels that the tires are more costley and the wheel lip is a steeper angle so the beads are not as secure. look for a less expensive set of 16 or 17" wheels...... just an idea.

i have heard that "trying to phase out 16.5" bull shit for years.
look at prices, a lot of swampers are cheaper in 16.5 than other sizes.
a lot of NEW[toyo, pitbull, krawler, maxxis] tire designs are not being made in 16.5 but there are more choices to be had in 16.5 than you would know what to do with anyways.

I have a new set of 39.5x16.5x16.5 pitbull rockers that I got with the jeep when I bought it, thats why I am going with a 16.5 rim

Well , Bridgestone no longer builds a 16.5" tire, Neither does Firestone.
( I currently manage a shop in sacto. ) BFG. still produces, but low volume.
