JeepinDoug 08-01-2002, 09:03 PM Try this addy for more rod end options
http://www.aedmotorsport.com/FK/index.html
You'll find several different ends and shear, torsoil, and tensil strength values. No Johnny joints though, and though you may be able to get acme threaded material in high carbon, chromo is what your gonna want and you'll have to have a tread roller do that for you.
desertCJ 08-01-2002, 09:22 PM I would check out either Johny joints or get some 1" or 11/4" rod ends...them suckas are strong;)

wngrog 08-02-2002, 04:32 AM Your Heims did good to last you 6 months. You just need to replace them every 2nd or 3rd run....
Heims were designed for AIRPLANES, not 8K # 500 HP tube buggies!

So you'll post back when you find out where to purchase these bigass heims???? Also let us know what you pay per joint.
They said in another post that there are only 19 guaranteed positions (due to previous top 10 finishes) so 21 competitors can enter the unlimited class regardless of if they have competed or not. Just send them you $75 and you should be good to go.

Here's a good informative thread over at SRC about aurora joints. http://www.sierrarockcrawlers.com/yabbse/index.php?board=4;action=display;threadid=813
Somebody on there says another source is:
www.radialbearing.com
Supposed to have same joints for a couple bucks cheaper.
FordPowr 08-02-2002, 08:38 AM avalanche also sells 1 1/4 joints...little higher load rating than the polyperformance ones and I think $75/joint. But I'm using the ones from polyperformance on my rear suspension and they make the 3/4 joints look like they belong on a barbie jeep
YUP THOSE ARE THE TICKET.
1" X 1.25 made by aruora bearing . i got them from dave at
www.polyperformance.com
the day i break these i will probally also be laying in a coma in a hospitable bed. they are badass
