Who's going to the MORE race this weekend?

I'll be out there racing a Class 1 lite car with the newly formed Victory Racing team in a new class that puts the short wheelbase 4cyl cars against one another. Class 1 lite, Trophy lite, and full potential cars will all be racing the full 6 laps. Starting right behind the 1600 cars. Looks like about 7 cars in this new class will show up.

Work on your truck. It's gotta be ready for the MDR race at the end of the month!

Yes Dan.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. 3019 Takes the win in MORE's new Pro 4 Class. Feels really good to get back behind the wheel for the first time since the Parker 425 and get a paycheck.:D

The little cars are a total blast to drive. I have never passed so many cars that where not parked:laughing:. Now I know why the faster cars get so pissed at slower cars..... They don't get out of the way. Way better then the Jeepspeed starting torward the front and not at the back of the line.

We laid down all sub 1 hour lap times with the best of a 0:48. and some change. I was 1 minute off the car owner, so I'm pretty happy for my first time behind the wheel with a new Co driver.

Brett Porter came out and did a great job in his first time as navigator. 140 miles of ass whooping and he took it like a man. His face at the finish was priceless, I wish I had a camera. I think we may see Brett hanging around the go fast stuff in the hopes of kicking some a$$ again at King of the Hammers.

The highlight of the race for me was watching the 1706 car go by while I was waiting to get in. I told Brett we have to pass those guys. I saw them as we came up to Bissermier, down that long stretch of whoops flat out in 4th gear. I caught them right before they turned and considered cutting on the inside but I was worried we would tangle up and wipe out a few pits so I drifted passed their rear bumper to the outside hoping to use the wind to my advantage. I could see the Orange army scatter ( I hope I did not roost you guys) and set up for the pass knowing it was single track for about a mile or two after the pit. The dust shifted and It was a complete white out. Not wanting to risk anything that close to pits I lifted and waited to get past the pits.

I was on 1706 like flys on stink almost in an instant. Brett seemed a little concerned that I was going to tangle with a car that weighed more then twice our little buggy but I just waited riding just inside his dust, second gear pinned trying to keep off the rev limiter. As we made the left hand turn into the wash 1706 with there TSL's showered us with rocks... Not gravel.. Rocks! Those interco's are like shovels.:D

When the wash opened up I cut to the right and put the wood to the floor. The rev limiter reminded me I was only in second, I grabbed third and made the pass just before the right hand turn back into rough slow cross desert single track. Brett reminded me of how rough the section was, but I kept a good pace knowing those Dust Junkies don't give up. There was no way I was going to give them an opprotunity. Great race.

Thanks go out to Karl Scanlan for having the faith to put me behind the wheel, Mako Steel for all your help with this new team and class, PWR Performance products for keeping the angry squirrel below 190 all day, Fusion for building a cool little car, and Powersports super stores in Temecula for all you guys do for this new class of racing.

After the Powder puff race is balls to the walls getting ready for the Baja 1000.

I bet there was more like a 3x difference in weight:eek::laughing: I guess they will be replacing the front bumper:mr-t:

I thought I felt a nerf, couldn't see or hear the 10 car behind us, we were trying to let cars by the minute we realized they were there
we had a flat tire at the time, throwing up tons of dust

We had some issues with 1706 the night before the race. The team pulled together once again and held on for a second place finish despite starting with a wounded car.

Congrats to Ray Griffeth for another class win in Jeepspeed. That kid can drive a race car.

By the time Scott Parker and I saw the little car behind us we were in the single track where I couldn't pull off. I was racing 18 Jeepspeed cars and Bryan Dodge for a second place finish, I had no reason to hold up a faster class car. As soon as it opened back up we started right as you passed on the right and we heard your horn for the first time. Your horn was loud when you were next to us, but we never heard it behind us.

No worries Scott, It would not have been any fun if you had pulled over. I had no idea you had a broken car till after the race, sorry to hear lightning struck twice. There was no way I was going to risk hitting you. ( that jeep hits back harder:D)We were racing for over all time to establish class starting position so I know how it goes. ( I did have our team mate on my ass somewhere back there as well)
Congrats on the finish. Good day of racing.
