: FYI, found good prices on gears and.....
liveaxle 08-01-2002, 10:37 PM I just thought that I would pass this on. I just ordered some US Brand gears for my 8" rear axle and Spicer brand gears for the front Dana 44. Drivetrain Direct had the best prices (for the stuff that I wanted) out of about ten places that I called. I got the US gears for $174, master install kit for $84 (Timken stuff), and Spicer gears with a master install kit for $230. $488 for everything. All of these prices were quoted to me without and haggling except for the Toyota master install which I got them to match Kong's pricing. Good service and supposedly they shipped my stuff the same day.
;)
Benny 08-02-2002, 04:29 AM cool. Now I know who to call for my gears. And I dont even have to call around.
You gonna get that truck wheelable soon? I wanna go.
Guys - jump on this... US Gears are the *BEST* you can put in your truck if you are going aftermarket, and those prices ROCK!

TNToy 08-02-2002, 10:12 AM Most of you probably remember my thread where I called like every place looking for the best price on 5.29s? If you remember, I ordered from DriveTrain Direct. Good stuff, good price.
One of their competitors actually hung up on me when I said I'd called four other places first, and that "your price is really high".
Randy 08-02-2002, 10:23 AM Drivetrain warrhouse is owned by 4 wheel parts. I have ordered over $1500 dolars worth of stuff from them. They do have good prices but make sure your getting what you ask for. I ordered a set of spicer 5:38s and they shiped me a set of genuine gears in a spicer box:mad:
And this last monday I ordered my warn shafts for my 44 and they sent me a short side for the long side and charged me for the long side.
Long story short, If you need the right part soon, DW may not be your best bet.
Bad Karma 08-02-2002, 10:45 AM Drivetrain Direct and Drivetrain Warehouse are 2 different outfits. I ordered all my stuff from DT Direct and they had excellent customer service and great prices. As a matter of fact, the guy who set up my gears (A-1 Differential in Phoenix, great place also) said he couldn't get a Detroit Locker for as cheap as I got it from DT Direct. :D

Attachment? It *is* a snow plow! :)
No wonder he got a deal on it--no snow in TN.
I thought it was a bunny guard... gotta keep the greenies happy.
You know, you really oughta use jackstands instead of cinderblocks--the neighbors can't complain about "that car on blocks" if it's not on blocks. ;)
Just razzin' ya, DRM... gotta take my mind off work sometimes.
Drivetrain Direct and Drivetrain Warehouse are not the same place. Drivetrain Warehouse is under the umbrella of 4WPW; Drivetrain Direct isn't.
I don't know what US Gears usually go for, so I'll not comment--the master install kit for $84 is a steal. I can't piece one together for that, even at large-Timken-dealer prices. Dana/Spicer gears with a master install kit, for any axle, for less than $300, is unusual too... sounds like a smokin' deal.
No problem Scott - all that junk on there just makes it all the more impressive with how much I can change that truck over the next month or so ;)

You know I have had a lot of probs. with 4wheelparts to. They like to BS alot. and when you order some thing, and call back a week later to get the traking #, you find out that you sh!t was on back order, and it hasn't shipped. Its happened twice in the past month...
