I just got back from the Marlin Roundup on the Rubicon. We had a great time.
I still have to unload the rig and prep it for this weekends comp ( I broke the traction bar). It sounds like this will be a fun one.
It has been soo long since the last comp, I need to get into the groove of things again. I am having a hard time getting exited out this one, but having Hobie back will make it a good time no matter what happens.

The l/f tire was stuffed into the ledge on that climb I know that didn't help any then after the front broke Jake said go for it in 2wd as soon as i dropped the clutch it was over. I thought we had you beat for 2nd. The f-toy class has really come along way in 5 years. it was cool to see you, Hobie and Sean back out there

It was great seeing you guys, and everyone else. Thanks to Hobie for asking me to spot, and getting me back in the game. Even with all our mishaps on saturday I had alot of fun. Actually I think it took all the pressure off and made for funner sunday.

So after Saturdays courses I head back to camp and John decides to screw around on some rocks. He rolls the rig and my helmet falls out and gets fully smashed.

We're not talking about some bmx or skate helmet, this was a bad ass all carbon fiber work of art......To the tune of $300:(:laughing:

I was gonna try to fix it with a couple stickers, but I couldn't get it back into a head shape.

Just got back from 3 days in Seattle. Thanks to all of the competitors. As always, we had a great time hanging out and competing with everyone. The courses were all over the place. The first 2 courses on Saturday were hard but the second 2 were lame. We complained a little so they stepped it up on Sunday. All 4 courses on Sunday were good courses.
Hobie found out that if you don't compete regularly, you forget things (like turning off the line lock and putting it back into 4wd after doing a rear burn :flipoff2:). Matt was bringing it all weekend but the Trail Gear F-toy just didn't have enough switches and levers for him to play with while on course. I kept seeing him grabbing for the turning brakes with his right hand but they weren't there :D:D.

Here's a quick story that MD touched on. After the competition on Saturday, we were all standing around trying to figure out how to get Hobie's rig back to camp after the wheel fell off and something in the front broke. Hobie got it figured out so I decided to turn around and go back to camp. To my Left was a big rock that we have competed on in the past, so I figured that I would go over this rock and head back. As I crested the top of the rock I turned to the left thinking that I was on the same line as I have been a number of times before. But this time as I started down the other side the drivers front dropped out suddenly. I gassed it in an attempt to drive out of it but I was too high off the ground and over I went. It was a pretty hard roll that wend straight over onto my roof. Of course, everything in the cab (mine an MD's helmet, gloves, etc.) went flying, it smashed my cheap helmet a little but MD's new helmet didn't fair so well (sorry MD). BUT I WAS FINE CAUSE I WAS WEARING MY 5 POINT HARNESS. I have been forcing myself to put the whole seatbelt on every time I get into the rig EVERY TIME. This time it paid off.

Wear your seatbelt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was probably more like this.

MD “Dtoy you rolled on my helmet”
Dtoy “[Buford T. Justice voice] I hope your god dam head was in it! [Buford T. Justice voice]”
