So- being the newbie I am, I've been slowly getting my '40 into shape- after lurking and reading all the cage posts, I decided to build one for my truck. Problem is, I hadn't even seen a welder before, so I decided to take a community ed. class for welding. Been there for several weeks, and starting to get the hang of it... occasionally I can get a bead that isn't embarassing!

Anyway, yesterday I lucked into access to a cnc lathe and a heavy duty tig.... With enough practice, I think I can get the hang of these things, but I'm at a loss as to what I should be making for the truck! Any ideas??

btw- hope this isn't too long or too far off topic...:flipoff2:

Start with the small stuff like bumpers and sliders, things that wont put you in danger if one of your welds break.;)
