Does anyone know the part number for the throttle linkage for a 12 valve Cummins out of a 98 Ram? The threaded portion snapped on my truck yesterday and I'm rolling on some linked together zip ties and a prayer right now. :D

This is what I'm talking about, I assume it's a dealer only item because the parts goons couldn't even locate it in their system at the local places. Anyone have a parts list or FSM?

The threaded portion that broke is what you use to do the fine adjustment of the injector pump throttle, I can't just welt it back together. :D

You can get them from Dodge. Also, there is a recall on them, go to the Dodge website and punch in your VIN to see if your truck is covered. Unfortunatly, in my experience, the OEM parts are crap. Mine has failed 3 times so far, the threads strip out like yours did.

It would be nice if someone offered an aftermarket setup. When I replace mine this time, I was thinking to drill it for a piece of wire and locktite the threads. I think it's also a good idea to leave some zip-ties on it (or wire, whatever) as a backup for if/when it does fail.

Pete mine didn't strip out, the threaded shaft actually broke off right after it came out of the center piece. I was able to take it all apart and get the broken part out allowing me enough slack to put it back together but I'll still replace it once the hurricane craziness is a little better. Cummins does sell an upgraded option but the local Cummins dealer is up to their eyeballs in Onan generator repairs.

Wow I must be lucky, I welded(TIG) mine 3 years and 50k miles ago and works great.

That's not what I broke, that looks to be the actual throttle cable or something like that. This is just the linkage between the cable and the injection pump. It's a threaded rod with a small swivel ball on each end.
