I bought this thing from my brother because he was in a bind and needed some cash. Now I some cash worse than I need this rifle. I have no idea what it is worth, but I have the 30 round mag, and 3 ten round mags, along with a couple of hundred rounds of ammo. There are a bunch of those sks stripper clips because the ammo was left over from when I had my sks.

How much can I expect to get out of all of this stuff? Also, any info about the rifle would be appreciated. I know it is a Norinco MAK-90 Sporter, but other than that I know very little. Besides the stock, what makes it different from an AK47? Here are some pics:

I never understood why the fuck something with a fucked up ass end and neutered "evil features" gets more than say a WASR

Because that ass end will help it last longer when forcefully tested against a tree.

Put them side by side and you would understand. MAKs are light years ahead of a WASR.

Gil I have a MAC and it is fucking nice. I traded a wrecked 95 Pontiac Sunfire for mine so I have no idea what its "worth." I see them at gunshows prety frequently listed from $5-600 but I dont know if thats what they actually go for. One thing's for sure, its fit and finish is MUCH better than my romi and unknown AKs.

1.5mm thick receiver, the fact that there are no more coming in, the machine work is a whole heck of a lot nicer, and the chinese were nice enough to drown the furniture in enough lacquer to hide the fact that they don't sand the wood.

1) its still an ak
2) its still a STAMPED ak
3) its an ak with its naughty bits lopped off
4) its got a stupid ass end

Fit and finish do not mean shit when you can not screw anything on the end of the barrel, your cleaning rod has no place to go and a retarded butt-hole stock
:flipoff2:

and some of them CAME with a dustcover mounted scope :p

I would rather have a hacked together century gun that I can at least bayonet someone with

Not all MAK 90s have the angle cut ass end.

And a few of them(mine included) are underfolder stock ready WITH intact barrel threads. :grinpimp:

and THOSE are worth in excess of $500.
The "sporters" should not be worth that...but are

I can see them going for that in banned states though

It's a rarity issue. If WASRs stopped coming in, they'd jump to $500+ as well.

Look at SAR series AKs, same thing.

I paid $300 not having any idea of the actual value.

I need to sell it now. From what I gather I wouldn't be out of line listing it for around $550 with the ammo and magazines. Correct me if I'm wrong.

$550 sounds fair. some maks are milled too. and the fit and finish is much nicer than a wasr.

Ask $550, settle for anything above $500 and both parties walk away happy.

I just got back from the local gun show (waste of money) and one table had the twin to that one for $549, so it sounds like you're in the ball park at $550.

Bah.....someone just don't like AK's....:p

In my particular case, the muzzle nut was just tacked in place, came right off. The stock was easily replaced with a US made set ( no slant cut ). If you look at my pic, there's a cleaning rod :) and when was the last time you f-ing bayonetted someone???? :flipoff2:

Oh, and the fact it was a .223 and I only paid $200 for it, I thought I did OK.

I've owned a few SAR-1s and played with a WASR, I'd take a MAK any day over them both.

Guy wants $550.00 for this thing:

http://www.mouseguns.com/mak90gal/mk90.html

Says it's low round count and about twenty years old. Comes with seven Chinese 30 rounders and three five rounders. Can you all tell if the receiver is angled? I can't. Don't really know what I'm looking at.

Worth $550.00 he's asking? I was going to offer $500.00 since he's down in Chattanooga.

A stamped Mak 90 sporter sells for $400-$450 on gunbroker. Those are auctions that actually were bid on (not simply listings). Figure the buyer is paying $20-$30 shipping +transfer ~$20.

$450 or so appears reasonable.
