The St. Jow ranger district Travel Plan has been underway for awhile and some of the locals have been involved. We did much better at the Coeur d'Alene Travel Plan aquiring 35 miles of trails. Versus 0 miles before.

Problem with the St. Joe plan has been not as much particapation from 4WD people, mostly from winter driving. Meetings were December and January. It is a treacherous 60 mile drive at that time of year, meetings ended after 9:PM so it was not fair to say the least.

From the looks of the proposed maps there were a bunch of ATV people and a ton of motorcycle people. 4WD people got four tiny sections of road, three are shared with ATV and they don't want challenges, one is contingent on private property right of way and two of the above look to be dropped. So in the end 4WD people get nothing!

Anyone interested in wheelin North Idaho please look at what is happening.
All the information and maps are located here.
