Went to the Bill Goodman's show today...

Anyway, i got myself a Traditions Arms Deerhunter; percussion cap; 54 cal; 1/48; ironsight, for 120 (talked the guy down from 150) bucks.

There were about 5 of them and this was the best looking one of the lot.

Took the gun home and went to shoot it after inspecting it and some minor cleaning...the gun fired just fine

The barrel bore has minor pitting with a couple rust spots throughout the entire length and the last 5-6 inches has some heavy pitting and rust (looks a lot better after some cleaning and firing, but you can tell the PO did not take care of this at all.)

I guess the question is...Is this gun going to be worth a crap or should i try to hock it off?

Ill get pics if i find my camera.

See if it shoots straight enough for your purposes. If it does, I'm sure it'll work fine. If not, you can sell it online with no FFL...you can't lose either way.

that sounds pretty cool. i concur with the above, if it shoots 3-4" or better at 50-75 yards, i say keep it and have a blast!...

No shooting for today, my buddy Ike showed up with his 70 mph winds and i had to cut up trees instead.

I was thinking of taking the barrel into work tonight and giving it a nice once over with the solvent tank.

good idea, bad idea?
