1. use a 2wd 465...

2. make a driveshaft to hook them together...

3. stock up on extra tcases...

I guess I should get a little more technical with the problem.
problem #1 my budy has a 46 willys
problem #2 its on a yota frame
problem #3 its powered by a 350/sm465/205.
problem #4 my pecker is longer than the rear shaft

which leads to problem # 5 this dam thing wants to blow apart any time he touches the pedal on the right

not to mention the 205 hangs so low that its the same height as the front and rear diff. anything we can do to eliminate this problem...

I should probably post this in general but since I already posted it here, And I know that sami guys are smarter than the rest ill leave it here for discussion

mate the 465 to a dana 18. it's offset to the pass side front and rear and sits up higher. also, there's no way a sammy tincan tcase can hold up to the torque of a 350 geared down by a tranny and another tcase, that's like thousands of lbs. of torque into that little box....
actually, a t18 from a '79 or so ford will do you better, since it's just as short, and much more narrow. it still has that granny gear in it too. I only got my chevy 4.3, t18, dana18 combo running for a little bit the other day, couldn't get enough fuel to feed it for more than 2 seconds, but it spun the shit out of my 39.5 iroks...
those t18 adapt easily to a chevy bellhousing, but you need a kit to rebuild the t18 to mate to a dana 18. call novak-adapt.com for more info on that

Just a thought, but why not adapt that 350 to a Toyota Tranny and case. both are smaller then his current 465 and 205 set up and Far stronger then the Sammy case. The W 56 may not be as strong as the 465, but it will still hold up unless he is a Moron with the Skinny pedal and gearing the case to 4.7 will give him tons with that V8 power plant.

there are many better options here. stretch the rear a bit. them willy's are the same 80" wheel base to start with. not to much here for the rear end will get light. there are some addaptors that will help with the clocking issue. ffind a 208 and take the gear reduction for a dub, to the 205. you can also lift the motor and trans, t-case in the frame. this will change center of gravity but help your belly issues. i would move both axles as to get the balance front to back a bit better. you got all this motor out front so the front is unbalanced by oh a few hundred pounds. these options will help the over all balance of the truck.

x2 on the toy trans and case option to think it is your best option. for sure.

yeah I have a spare sami t case and was hoping for an easy-cheap fix. I agree with moving the axles. I would like to link it front and rear but I just cant get this guy motavated to tear down. he says he doesnt have the money right now. but do we ever have the money. I can barely afford to eat but some how just got done linking my sami. I guess it depends on where your priorties lie.

Still not enough nuts, but I'd guess a divorced Datsun/Nissan 720 case would be stronger than the Sami case.

x2 on Toy tranny and toy case...which you can adapt from a Chev bellhousing pattern...or can you adapt from a SM465 to Toy case?

Yep to one:

Either Novak or AA makes a super short SM420 to dana 300. It basically puts the t-case right up against the rear of the trans main case eliminating the long adapter in between. I would look that way if he wants to keep things short and make it live.
