well i just noticed the new section. figured i would put up some pics of my ax10. i bought the kit when they first came out, and am running a 45t integy lathe, and 2.2 mudslingers. i have the tcs boomerang in the rear because the top link kept popping out, hitec metal gear servo and at one point had custom frame rails with a stinger (will be rebuilt soon).
i have gone through quite a few parts from several links, 5 or 6 servos, both sets of r&p gears in the axles, 2 sets of gears on the motor, and a few others. here are some pics the way it used to look will get some current ones up tomorrow.

So, when are you going to install nitrous?

These things look more and more fun every time I see them. However, back when I was a teenager, I remember my RCs couldn't stand the smallest amount of moisture....and definitely not mud. I guess technologies have solved that issue.

no nitrous haha. but it will soon be building a dual battery setup so i can get about 3 hours of run time. they can still have trouble with water you can put boat a boat esc in them and drive them underwater with no trouble. i just have mine in a box to keep them fairly dry. works good enough.
figured i would take a few poser pics with the new body (only eb i will be able to afford for a while) i toasted my charger so no action pics for a few days and if im not too lazy i might build the new stinger and tire carrier for the pics.

they are good just for screwing around and get decent traction. but they dont self clean very well unless you have a high speed setup. and arent the softest rubber for crawling. they are my favorite all around tire though

Where the FAWK did you get that 10th scale Ford body? I had to buy the 8th scale F100 body, and now I'm taking two inches out of the middle and dovetailing the front/bobbing doving the rear to get it to fit my Axial.

i just bought the proline 70' f-100 body http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLGG1&P=7 and then set my ax10 to the shortest length. and of course a little trimming for clearance.

Shortest length as in wheel base?

I have the same body, but I'm doing all these modifications because that stock body won't fit on my side mounted body posts.

I'm going for the same length and width as the Grappler body that I have. But I'm gonna do the copper tone layered paint job to create the "rusty scale" look.

yea i meant wheelbase i was a little off yesterday.
to make mine fit the body posts i just bought longer posts at the hobby shop, measured everything out and drilled.

i was going to get some newer actuion shots up but am having some battery trouble. it started about a week ago id stick a battery on the charger then put it in my ax10 and it will only last for about 5 minutes with almost no power. so i swapped my electronics from my race truck into it and the same thing, ive tried 5 different batteries that i have had no trouble with (from 0-6 charges on each of the batteries) i tried my other charger with the same batteries and it still does the same thing. about the only thing i havent done is put one of my other motors in. anybody have any ideas?

i threw my 75t lathe in it and it is working perfect now (a little slow and not shit for wheel speed). i got a good hour+ out of 1 charge vs the 4 minutes with the 45
i will get some outdoor shots a little later today running the 1.9 crushers on hummer wheels

i finally decided to start on my cage last night and picked up some 3/16" steel rod along with some 1/8" i have my body cut out for it to fit now, got the 2 main tubes bent and cut, the stinger, supports, and front bumper are cut and ready to weld, the tire carrier and rear bumper are being worked on along with the rock sliders. i should have it welded up and ready to paint in a few days.
here are a few pics of the main bars i will get more up today or tomorrow

after the cage and bumpers are done i will be starting on a removable full hard top and roof rack.
