I got a 73' k10 that i have installed a 4" ORD shackle flip on. I have 52" spring and for some reason have terrible shackle angle. My Shackles are sitting at about 5 o'clock instead of 8 o'clock like they should be. ORD states that the shackle mounts will work with both 52" and 56" springs. Am I missing something, what can i do short of getting new springs?

if you mean the bottom of the shackle where it meets the spring is at 5 , then it should be pretty close. You want it pointing to the rear at about 20-30 degrees.

yes... they are pointing about 20-30 degrees... but they are pointing toward the front of the truck.

then you need to move the shackle flip forward. until you have it right

or you need to put the shackle flip brackets on the right side of the truck... it has been a while since i did mine, and i no longer have the truck it was on, but i think you could mistakenly put them on wrong.

i followed the instrustions that came with the flip. If i turn them around on the truck they supposedly will be set up for 56" springs. The flip is mounted in the stock rivot hole locations per the intructions. I have thought about moving the flip forward and welding it on but, that is not the way it is explained by ORD. If i weld the flip on the i would rather configure the set-up for 63" springs

yep, sounds like you may have gotten them backwards some how or another.
just give swapping them around a shot, what could it hurt, and it might fix the issue.
:edit: just to explain why i now am pretty sure that they are swapped, you said you have 52" and if you "swaped" them acording to the directions it would be set for 56"... if your shackles are pointing forward then your upper mount is probably about 4" too far back. so if you swap them the frame end mount would move 4" forward and set your shackle angle to "good to go" status :edit:

point taken.... i very well could just be over thinking it. i'll have to flip the flip and see what happens. thanks!

Remember that just because something is engineered for a general populace, doesn't mean that it will work perfect with your application.
Simple things like spring age and sag or whatever could change shackle angle.
I did the 64 inch swap and built my own shackle flip, and had to move both the forward spring hangers to accomodate, then drill new holes for the shackle brackets once I had my shackle angle set to 30*.
