I've cooked the engine in my 4.0l Ranger.
I have a donor vehicle, an 89 F250. I plan to swap in the entire drivetrain and computer.
Simple enough?
ahhhhh! EMISSIONS TESTING.
dAMN! there is a very real possibility of ALberta needing to comply (as per the Kyoto summit hearings) with standard emssions testing by as early as next year.
The simple solution would be to merely replace the 4.0l...they are a dime a dozen here but I'm really jonesing for the 302.
Should I wait on the v8 swap or should I go ahead and do it with the full knowledge that I may not be able to register my daily driver next year? Finding a matching year 5.0l (94) has proven impossible or extrememly expensive and still may not gauarenty being legal.
