All,
Due to my 'rural' location, I need a gen set for the house/shop. I am convinced the 1.6 is the right engine, but I can only find a 16 valve, and I want to run propane.
I called www.gotpropane.com and he informed me the issue is spark. I can run the 1.3 intake, but I still need spark.
Since this is for a generator, It will be a fixed RPM installation, so I am thinking crank trigger, or modified duraspark module, or a pertronix, but being new to the 'Zuk engines, what do you guys think? IS there an easier way to convert the 16 valve? Will the 1.6 8 valve dizzy work?
Yes, I know I can get an off-the-shelf genset, but I am looking at $1500 total for a water-cooled 20KW genset that will outlast anything you could buy for less than $10k... and where is the fun in buying something?
I do appreciate any constructive input.
Oh yea, I will have an AT/xfer case/axles and the EFI left over when I am done... what are they worth (NW Penn), if anything?
TIA,
Eric
