i was at a tractor junkyard
i came across several tractors with complete steering setups still together, these ran off of a small gear driven pump operated off of a pulley. does anyone know of a reason not to use these (the whole system). Seems to me this will work, as long as the stroke of the ram is within limits. Seems this board has gotten to me and i need to do this
thanks for any input

It should work fine, mine came off a fork truck, but I wasn't able to get the pump

one thing i forgot to mention, i am going to keep my regular power steering pump for hydroboost brakes and run the other pump just for the steering, or is this a dumba$$ plan

I'm having good luck using just a ps pump for the steering, you probably could use the hyd pump for the hydroboost also. less mechanical stuff is best. imho
