Well I am thinking of selling my runner to buy a tj, the probem is my runner is pretty done and I would have to start fresh with a jeep.

I've got a tj all built up and basically got bored with it. W/ plenty of power, gears and a long-arm lift, it made wheeling the trails I feel safe on too easy. Big compromise though when you go to a long-arm lift. The vehicle is just too unstable for anything resembeling a quick manuver at highway speeds. But with the other lifts, you really give something up in articulation.
Also, you do think twice about doing anything radical in the way of body modifications on a $12-15,000 vehicle.
TJ makes a good compromise though for a DD and a wheeling vehicle.
Haven't finished building up the Toyota yet, but I look forward to putting a little excitement back in the game.

I never really believed you really dug Yotas. Hmmm.

Brimy is right though, hard to get as capable vehicle as a SAS'd Toy for the $$$. For <$5000, you can be into a serious vehicle that is very reliable.

Still, Jeeps kick butt, just too much mucking about to get it serious and way too much money, at least it seems that way to me, that's why I'm going the Toy way.

I went wheelin yestarday with 2 buddies with tj's and I have as much in my 4runner than one of them has just in his susp. Yes the tj's are nice but for wheelin I'd rather have my 4runner then maybe a tj for a dd with a small lift and 33's just to make it look good.

Jeeps are gay. I think if you start w/ a stock jeep your getting weaker crap. If you find one that's already built fine, but why turn to the "Dark side"?:vader: :flipoff2:

I just got an 85 runner and my coil-converted YJ is for sale...

I like the runner for more room, ac, and the fact that I can get it on in the back without herniating a disc in my (or her) back

...but mostly I just wanted a new project...

I'm gonna miss the power from the 4.0, though. My new ride does 74 mph with just me in it and no hills or wind. The jeep could go faster than I ever wanted too...

Jeeps and Toys are really like siblings that fight a lot. Same general idea: not super powerfull, not full-size, not really meant to tow/haul/pull stumps, but kick ass at taking you and a friend places no chevy will ever go...
