The TN-800 is the perfect notching machine for the serious fabricator or shop. It employs a very unique design where the operator dials in the OD that they wish to notch to. So, if the operator needs to work with 1 3/4" tube for a roll cage application, they would simply dial in 1.75" and the machine will change its eccentric path and produce a perfect notch.

Is it possible to use the "north" side of the end mill? My biggest complaint about the Mittler brothers end mill notcher is the travel on the vice ways is very limited to the point that you can't move the vice over to the other side of the end mill and rotate the vice the other way to keep the hoop (like a small halo)from hitting the motor. It's impossible to use it on an number of hoop notching operations.

You have to remember that on the Mittler Bros. the end mill does not “move”. You use it much like the abrasive style where the material is pushed into a stationary mill.

For the hoop notching all one has to do is rotate the hoop to the desired side and make the notch. The material never moves once it is mounted in the vise, and the end mill travels into the material making the notch. Of course it does somewhat depend on the size of the hoop, but most can be accomplished quickly and easily on the TN-800.

I got a chance to use this notcher in the welding shop of a local university. It is simply awesome! Great product, and very easy and fast to set up.

very nice Shane. I use an old war finish horizontal mill for copes, but with the portability of this machine it would be so much easier and faster to have it right next to the project instead of walking back to the mill to take a little more off. nice work
