i started out about a year ago with a pos radioshack xmod that i modified the living piss out of then not long after the ax10 came out and i picked on of the kits up and have been modifying it and beating the hell out of it since.

just bought a losi mrc. cheap way to see if you like it or not. the losi works great for the price. waiting for some mods to come out. next probably an axial.

I had an E-Maxx long ago, crawled it with the independent suspension, tore it apart to build a crawler that I never finished, destroyed a couple 1:18 nylint crawlers, left crawling for go fast RC shit and now I'm back to it with a Losi Mini.

I just kinda "stumbled" across the Axial AX-10 while doing some Christmas shopping last year. I was doing a little research on the internet to see if it was a piece of shit or not, then I found RC Crawler.com and it just went downhill from there:grinpimp:

This is almost exactly what happened to me. I was fixing a e-maxx for my cousin and found an axial at the LHS and had to have one. It didnt help that my 1:1 had been torn down for a couple months and I was fiendin for some rocks. Rccrawler is the debbil.

Started with Traxxas Rustler, T-Maxx, E-Maxx, TXT-1, ClodBuster, etc all back in the day... sold them all to afford 1:1 hobby :flipoff2:

started by "crawling" (more like beating on) my T-maxx on some rocks... Then decided to build an e-maxx based truck with locked out arms etc, that was 5 years ago... since then I have moved on to more trucks than I can count, pres of the local RC rockcrawling club, started selling my own chassis designs and pretty much have went crazy with it.

Friends kinda talked me into it.... tested one of their rigs... i was sold.
Got me an AX-10 ARTR package the next day :)

Nice, detailed product and as the product description says almost ready to run. Just add electronics and your good to go!

I've been "crawling" for about 5 years now. Started w/ a stock stampede w/ locked rear diff and mTroniks esc (waterproof) and the receiver in a ballon. Wheeled everything from small rocks to bottomless mud. Put that truck through hell and back and only damage was I popped the top off 1 shock.

Then moved to a tlt, a bluemeanie V-II, two more tlt's, and now an ax-10 and losi mrc. I've also got the parts to make two more. One is going to be a scaler, the other is spare stuff waiting for a home.

sounds like the pede I put together for my kid.. I had the same exact setup for him when I first started crawling.. he still loves that truck..

only problem I have ever had is now he wants to go fast so the locked diff likes to eat drive shafts when you take it off sweet jumps :D need to swap trannys out for him..

I started when I was about 9. My first R/C was a Tamiya Hornet that I drove into the ground. Moved on to the blackfoot (which I still have aside from the body) and have gone through off-road dirt racing, then to a t-maxx with big block kit (40mph easy) and an HPI Rs4 on-road racer. A couple of the guys I worked with at the hobby shop a while back did r/c sprint car racing and they slowly morphed into crawlers since everything they did was custom anyway.

Currently I have my Blackfoot and a 2nd gen Wild Willy's that are shelf queens and a ton of parts. I'm getting ready to start getting my boys setup in r/c since they always want to play with mine. :D

Other than my custom t-maxx (sold) I haven't made the leap into rockcrawling.

Just get a new differential gear. Should cost less than $15. Also upgrade to the aluminum idler gear.

Agreed! but make sure you buy the kit version, not the rtr. Get decent electronics, and your set. Unless you really bash on it, you'll do just fine.

Cheapbatterypacks.com is awesome for batteries! Picked up two 7cell 2/3'sA packs (1450 nimh) for $22 each custom built to fit on the front axle!

i started back in '92 in the r/c ground and flight, been flying since '00.....raced for the last 9 years oval(1/10th scale pan cars-nascars-mod and stock, legends, and also 1/4 scale nascars), got into crawlin bout 3 years ago, got a x-factor with rear steer, and 2 ax-10's........full scale crawlin has got me tied up

I started by racing electric stadium trucks back around 92 or so before I could drive. I stopped racing when the track shut down, but I have always kept one or two RC's going to play with.

I got into the crawler scene when I found a nylint on clearance at Wal-Mart and it started from there.

Now I have a 1.9 scaler, 2.2 comp rig, clod based super, and two-three more in the project stage, as well as the 6-7 other non-crawler RC's.

for me it was aug 2007 offroad expo there were 2 rc booths and 1 of them had an indoor rc crawlin track we were hooked and 2 days later and about 1300.00 i had one bad ass ax10 scorpion..
i always liked the crawlin rigs ,but you had to peice them together ..then the ax10 kit came out and now you had everything needed to make a comp worthy rig assuming you could set it up..there is loads of aftermarket and inhouse optional parts available now ..when i got mine it was hard to find them ,and when you did they were usaully sold out ..not the case anymore..
