Roomates are out of town. Put a bunch of crap on ebay and craigslist. Cold and lonely here, just me and the dog.

Sun-Loaded up another load of scrap from the farm. Old man has way to much fun on the ol' Fiat-Allis

Friday night: Dispatched Portland OSP. Drunks, warrants, accidents and traffic stops....LOTS OF TRAFFIC STOPS...

Saturday Night: Dispatched Salem/Albany/Newport OSP. It was a quite night until about 1 am, then it was ON. We had 4 drunks all within 10 minutes of each other, 3 of which were involved in accidents. Then a 40 person fight and backup for a city cop who had chased someone down and now had them at gun point. I got in 1 hour of overtime then went home.

Sunday: Went to bed at 5 am, couldn't sleep, so I called in sick. It's about the 3rd night in a row I couldn't sleep, so figured I'd take a day for myself.

Hauled firewood. I wasn't planning on towing until the roomate towing with his dodge 1/2 ton automatic couldn't make a hill in hi-range and he got the t-case stuck in neutral and slid back and jackknifed my trailer in the woods.

Ended up useing the scout the rest of the time.

the 345 TBI pulls like a champ. 2 full cord (256 cu foot) on there. we cut and stacked 4 full cord.

Off-and-On wrenching since I took 1/2 a day on Wednesday. Tore the manifold off the motor and fixed the leaky core plug... all nice and shinny now, all the emissions crap is finally gone. Lot cleaner now too. Finished mounting the Taurus fan and relocating the radiator to accommodate. Tore the carb. apart just to check for issues. Sounds like less work when I type it out than it was.

Also took the time to fix my crossmember, and a butt load of wiring for the fans, headlights (novel concept), even rock-lights if I can figure out where I want to mount them.

Still need to fill it up with coolant and test run, but its initial fire-off in the garage started out stetchy, but in the end... seemed to run pretty smooth. Need to pull it out and flog on it.

Even took some time to tinker with the (new) camper.... needs some serious work, but it will work for this weekend.

Wish I was a little farther along... or atleast had more free time. O-well, I'll be ready. I'm farther ahead that I usually am :D

My new Griffin 31" x 19 " 1.25 tube radiator showed up late Sat.:D My old rad tank was leaking and they wanted $85 to solder and pressure test it.
So I tore the front of the Scout off, cut the core radiator supports back as far as I could and still have body mounts. About 3" off each side. Welded some 3" flat bar to the remaining section for strength. Flapper wheeled and paint it. Grab serveral rubber radiator pads off Fords at the JK to use for mounting. The 1997 econoline vans have some nice universal rubber mounts :smokin: Made a light weight cross member to support the radiator. Still need to build / create some top clamps to hold it down.
A lot of little things to finish before driving, like hanging the electric fan, tranny cooler, power steering cooler, connecting hoses and filling up with coolant.

Fri afternoon went to pick up a new 30' gooseneck trailer a buddy just bought. Spent the rest of the weekend towing it around and learning how to pull a gooseneck. Almost took out one minivan but otherwise did pretty well. :grinpimp:

Sat, had the 2 jeeps loaded up and went to a car and truck show. Came home, grab'd the tools, kid and wife and headed out for a night ride. Didn't get back to the house till about 4:30 sat morning.

Sunday, spent most of the day recovering from the ride and unloaded the rigs and all the crap in them that evening. Got ready to start another week.

Rear driveshaft is done.

I had to pull the new wheels off the front and put the rollers back on...need some 8 lug wheel spacers to clear the brakes One of my new brake lines has started to leak in the crimp on end so I'll have Reno clutch and Brake re-make it.

I still got to wheel it out at the place a bit. I put it in 2x4 and drove 5-6 laps around the pasture easily to make sure the new gears and everything got lubed. Then I did 2 more laps ripping it up...damn I need shocks

After that I started twisting it in the ditches...yup need to trim a bit since this thing is going to flex. Then the climbed a couple hills like a champ.

So overall a few issues still but I may be able to take it out in a week or two for its first mild trail run.

Actually did something with the scout for a change. Bolted on a new to me rear bumper. Re installed aux. back up/rear rock lights. filled the rear diff, since it bled out over the summer. Contemplated selling the scout, then went for a 50 mile dirt bike ride.
