This is a Bronco that Fat City has been working on. It should be done in about three weeks. Eric is the one in the picture and this is his creation. Have lots of pictures if you want more. On it's way to powder coat first thing tomorrow. This thing is sick!

Eric gave me permission to post the pics. I usually take them with the digital. His puter is broken right now so he can't post or reply to e-mails. He is on his way to farmington today.

Here are some more. He recently changed the entire rear suspension setup. It was what has taken so long. This thing is goint to be awesome when done. Something like 22" of ground clearence at the lowest point. I don't know a lot of specs but the power plant is a 351 bored and stroked to a 426. 450hp 500 torque,c-6,hydraulic front and rear steer, custom portal axles,42 swampers, and all kinds of other stuff.

that thing is unreal. that has got to be on the same par with the technology of todays monster trucks. any idea what something like that would cost?

that rear steer is state of the art.

i have got to see some pic's of it in action.
i bet it would handle at speed as well as the rocks. hell with the obvious light weight it would handle the jumps and woopdedoo's good too. thats it ask him to go launch it on a 150 footer so you can get some pic's. hahaha...

i think the bar has been raised.
super sweet.

Are those portal axles one-offs or are they based on Mog axles or something similar?

I don't know but Axle Jack from CTM is the one who built them.

Don't take this wrong, but is that frame engineered or just built? I'm curious if there's any real mechanical engineering in how many braces there are and where they're placed. Or is it just built by the rule of overkill?

Damn, I hope to get a tubing bender some day.

That axle setup just looks STOUT!!! Was it designed to any specs or just BIG AS HELL?

Eric built the entire frame bumper to bumper. It's not overkill at all. It looks freaky but a lot of it has to do with all the zues (sp) clips. When the body gets placed on it after powder coat then i'll show you what i mean. It's built real stout all around. No offence taken. How can i? I'm just posting these pics cause this thing is so freaky lookin without the body on it.

Yes they are and to top it all off they (centers)are flipped. They somehow worked out any and all oil problems that might occur.

Hmmm.. what's missing from this picture?

Where's the happy pedal??!

I've been thinking of dzus fastening a new trans tunnel/engine tunnel into my rig.. but dang, there's probably more $$$ in dzus fasteners in that Bronco than I have in my rig.

The "happy pedal" will have to be yet another special piece. The masters and brake pedal are all one unit. Eric was tearing it all apart for welding when i snapped these pics and i don't think he has decided what pedal to use.

Absolutely impressed!! I can not imagine the time alone in just the tubbing that he has done. The inside of that thing is the most beautiful work(in a buggy) that I have ever seen.

I really can say that it is the sweetest buggy that I have ever seen despite probably being heavier than it needs to be(using tubing stout enough for a roll cage to make mounting points for the trans tunnel, and hold floor panels). How much does just the frame weigh?? Becasue the Avelanche sniper chassis weighs like 450#'s, and you have never seen one of those twist or break in half.
Still the sweetest buggy I have ever seen.

Thnks for the pics,
Sean

As far as i know it only weighs about 300lbs. Eric was able to move it around by himself. I think the overall goal weight was something like 3400-3600lbs. The axles are heavy but they are real cool.

With the 42's, the clearance at the pigs is 24" and the clearance under the axle tubes is 30". That should get him over the rocks O.K. Heh, heh. You will soon see this under it's own power. Lots of power. Heh, heh.

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! ok gotta ask, i was reading about the brakes on the drive line. said they put it on the firt 4x4. now how does that work? i would think it would put to much stress on the drive line and make it crack. i just may be dense but how exactly does it work?

JReynolds Inc.
09-27-2001, 10:37 PM
The drive line has a 5:1 leverage advantage over the axles. It takes less brake to slow the drive line down than it does the axles.

The scout will be painted the same color as the below jeep. My seats were custome as well and i had to wait for two or three weeks but they are well worth it.

The center sections are Ford 9 inchers flipped upside down. They are mated to Unimog outer gear boxes. The two are married via axles made by Axle Jack of CTM. It's a lot of work, head scratching and money. The net worth is 4-5/8 inches of added axle clearance

I really look forward to seeing this in person...
