Today, I finally bolted up the headers and the 4L80E trans on the back of the 500. Swung it in place, and then bolted up the 203 and then the 241 from underneath. Went in so easy it scared me. Was nervous about a couple of things, called Jim Maulis and he calmed me down. I am still a little scared about a couple of things I want to clear up before I weld in the engine and trans mounts.

Does anyone have a Email address or ph# of someone who has a Cad powered Scout in their driveway that might be willing to give me a couple of measurments?

I havent downloaded the pics from the camera yet, but if you are interested, Email me and I will send you a couple.

I think that the moderator of this forum, Ben, has a 500 powered Scout 800.

To Ben or anyone else who might be privy to the information. I don't know how applicable this translates to a 80 from a Scout II, but what I am looking for is the distance from rear of the front frame crossmember to the front of the crankshaft pully. Right now I am about at 14.5 inches. I am also wondering about how low the engine is sitting in the frame. With my Sanderson headers I am very close to the factory rag joint, and the frame. I would like to lower the engine another inch and a half to 2 inches. I am going to talk to MTS on Monday about another set of headers which may allow me to lower the engine a little more, and maybe it is time to replace the rag joint with a fancy vibration reducing Ujoint.

It is a 49,000 mile 72 Eldo. The car was a convertible purchased for a scene in a movie. The frame flexed so the car was scrapped. I had it sitting for a couple of years and it had a sticky valve. I had a valve job done, and there was not even a hint of any ridge on top of the cylinder. I also replaced the main bearings, one was pretty bad. Used a 205TD cam (very mild), 5/16 thick BOP to Chevy adapter, and blueprinted oil pump from CMD who is now flashcraft. From mts I used a flowcooler pump, Edlebrock intake, Sanderson street rod headers, pertronix conversion, true roller timing chain, and mini starter. Carb is a truck Qjet from a truck sent to The Carb Shop in Ca for refurbushing. Engine mounts are the streetrod units from MTS. I am hoping for around 400hp and 500 lbs of twist
