I did a search and could not find any information where I can beef up my steering rods (tie rod and drag link). I recall something about replacing them with stuff from a FJ80. I am open to suggestions.

You can bore your existing arms out to handle FJ-80 rod ends...they are very stout.

I have seen some nice rods made by simply putting a large rod OVER the existing rod and welding the ends.

The FJ80 have the same taper on the steering arms as the minitrucks and FJ60s. The difference is in the rod thickness. The 80s have a 23mm shank thus needing a thicker rod. There are several places that make these rods for the minitrucks. All they have to do for the 60 is make them slightly longer. The high steer would be a good idea. All the arms that fit the minitucks will fit the 60 series. Again you just need to get longer rods. I personally would not go to allpro, but anybody else that does the high steer should be able to accomodate the longer rods. Try Rockstomper, Kongs, or even Marlin.:flipoff2:
