I helped my Dad put Scout II Dana 44's under his '68 Scout 800. Now he wants to have power brakes. What is the best method of getting power brakes on a Scout 800? Should we get a booster and m.c. from a Scout II? Are the brake line fittings the same on the Scout 800 and Scout II? If a Scout II booster/ mc isn't a good swap candidate then what would be? Lastly, is a proportioning valve needed?

thank you :)

Try a Hydro boost a little easier to swap in, else you'll have to notch the inner fenders.

I would run all new lines, the old lines are bound to be full of crap. Easier to run what you need, a bender and flare kit are cheap.

Power brakes eh? In all the 800s I've done, I've never put power brakes into an 800. Lil Mule got a SII p-valve, but thats it. Snoopy's stock system locked up the 36s real good (had Scout II axles and brakes) then when I put the 38.5s on it ~it would lock those up pretty good too...
