The Santa Cruz 4Wheel Drive Club will be spending National Public Lands Day (Saturday Sept. 27th) cleaning up what we can at the Hollister Hills OHV area. :grinpimp: This is kind of a last minute thing, but if your not busy this Sat then come on down and help.

We are meeting at the obstacle coarse at 9:45 am and headed out into the park by 10am. We are going to clean up untill about 2:30 and then head over to Sycamore camp ground to have a BBQ. Pick up a bag of trash and we'll feed you. :D

Our club will deal with all the trash collected but we are short on trash bags, so if you can make it out this Sat try and bring some with you.

Thanks. My plan for NPLD was to head up to Grizzy Flats and help with the FOE clean up, but then this came up last min.

Our club will be at a FOTR work party event on the con gettin' stuff done!! I would go otherwise.

You enter the upper ranch at the Vineyard School. Were meeting at the 4x4 obstacle course. I believe the black trail to the left of the obstacle course is Tank, thats where one of our groups will be. The other group will be in the area below the camp ground (Sycamore Camp) on the right of the map. Look for rigs with black and orange SC4WDC stickers, you cant miss them.

How did it go? Pics??

It went great. We (about 20 people including 2 kids) started out at the bottom of truck hill were alot of people hang out. Then we split up, some cleaned up the lookout area at the top of the park and some went to the lower half of jungle. We ended up with a full size truck bed full of trash, half a frame, windshield, hood, and 6 full bags of bottles and cans to recycle. The Sami guys droped off a couple of tires they found as well (thanks for your help guys). Not too bad IMO for a last minute get together.

Thanks to all that showed and put in work on this hot ass day. Big props to Chris Thompson for letting us put the trash in his Ford and taking it to the ranger station dumpsters.

After we were done some of us went and ran TT. It had the most dust/loose dirt/dryed silt (whatever you want to call it) that I had every seen. It was like deep sand in some places.:confused:
