About AU$30, so I guess about US$20 to 25. Cheap as chips mate!

OK now I'll read the question. :smokin: Errrrm. 40mm I think.

it's relative....it's all depends on the amount of fluid your master pushes thru. A small bore master with a large bore slave won't get much, while a small bore slave with a large bore master will be higher.

I run a large bore master and slave currently and have no problems, but do have a small-bore slave on the bench. Just gotta get the hose made for the connection, since fittings changed between them as well...

WELL THE REASON I ASK IS, MY STOCKER IS TRASHED, SO I, BEING CHEAP, GOT ON EBAY AND SCORED A BRAND NEW ONE FOR A TOYOTA TRUCK FOR LESS THAN $10 SO IM HOPING IT WILL HAVE ENOUGH THROW TO WORK A SM420, WHICH I KNOW THE STOCKER CAN...

Pull the master cylinder. Measure bore and pedal induced piston travel..Do math(pi*(bore radius^2)*piston travel). Figure out what cubic volume the master displaces... Then use this figure to do the reverse math with the known bore of the new slave cylinder and you will have the travel of the newer slave. Make sure the slave cylinder can handle the travel...

MAN, YOU GUYS ARE MAKING IT WAY TOO COMPLICATED, JUST TELL ME HOW MUCH TRAVEL THE STOCK SLAVE CYLINDER HAS IN INCHES, AND I CAN COMPARE IT TO MINE. I WILL WORRY ABOUT BORE SIZE AND FLUID DISPLACEMENT ONCE I A] KNOW THIS ONE HAS ENOUGH TRAVEL AND B] GET TO THAT STAGE IN THE BUILD UP

Simply...

The bore of a slave cylinder is about 2.5" deep. The "plunger" inside is about 1" long. Max available travel is 1.5" or the plunger will pop out the end.

If all you want is max available throw of the cylinder you already bought, take a tape measure to it when it arrives rather than ask all of us to spend time measuring ours...

And it still doesn't matter what how long the cylinder is since fuild displacement is what dictates travel.....

And finally, that CAPS lock is just pissing me off....

DANG, LOOKS LIKE I PISSED YA OFF WOODY. SORRY MAN. HERE I'LL GO THREW THE RUN THRU.... A] I DONT HAVE MY STOCK SLAVE CYLINDER, BECAUSE IT WAS JUNKED. I DO HAVE THE NEW ONE AND I HAVE MEASURED IT BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO PUT TIME INTO IF TO FIND OUT IT DOES HAVE ENOUGH THROW IN THE FIRST PLACE. THANK YOU FOR MEASUREING YOURS FOR ME. [I ASLO DONT HAVE A HAYNE'S]

AND FINALLY, MY POS KEYBOARD IS BROKEN SO I CANT GET IT OFF OF CAPS LOCK. I'M TRIED TO FIX IT BUT I ENDED UP RIPPING THE KEY OUT AND MANGLING THE SWITCH. I'M STUCK LIKE THIS TILL I GET A NEW ONE. SORRY :(

I GUESS I'LL GO OFF TO MY CORNER NOW...

Tape measure at Home Depot - $9
Keyboard from Office Depot - $9
not irritating your fellow PBB participants...priceless...

:D lol (all in good humor)

Unfortunately, the tale of the tape still tells you nothing. What is the bore diameter? A 7/8" early bore versus a 3/4" later bore will throw differently, given the same fluid volume. (or is that 1" early and 7/8" later?? help??) What's the MC bore and stroke?

A stainless braided hose will not deform under pressure as much as a new stock or a old used stock.

Knowing (or in my case, guessing) the bore length and plunger size tells you nothing of the fluid movement.

The MATH noted above, as painful as it may be for me and you, is the only true teller.

Oh, and I'm not pissed, it's just a question that can only be answered thru volume and not distance. It's like asking me if it will hurt when I punch Nolen in the shoulder...my arm is x" long but that has no effect on the force behind it and at what point that force reaches Nolen. (sorry Nolen...a bit unhappy that you didn't have that spare driveshaft in your truck to add that 20+# for me to win the t-shirt.... :D )
