im trying to mock up my drivetrain in the flea, im fabbing a flat bottom and i have alot of negotiating in tight quarters to get this to work and using the 4.3 block is proving difficult !

I saw a plastic 350 at 4x4land last week but i need a 4.3.

I searched here ( no easy task, mind you ) and elsewhere and cant seem to find what im looking for.

either a pattern someone else has made that i can use or buy.

or another way of building a model for mocking up drivetrains?

thanks

am im missing something simple?

http://www.payr.com/engines.htm

This is the company that makes the plastic ones. His website shows a 4.3 coming soon. Not cheap, though.

get a cast iron 350 block, cut off 2 cylinders, cut out all the rest of the casting. Plastic blocks are stupid expensive

haha, or just find a 4.3 block if you're gonna cut out the rest of the casting.

350 block would probably be easier to find.

I've got a blown 4.3 you could chop up, but it's a few states away. Might be easier to just take some basic measurements on your motor and build one outta plywood.

Get over it and quit whining! If you want to do it right and not have any future problems, use a real block, they can't be THAT heavy and difficult to move around.

Cut the stinger off until it's needed for the project?

I'm kinda in the midst of a similar project of my own, I feel your pain. Fortunately, I have plenty of room to work in.
