Saw a clean aluminum bumper on a TJ In Big Bear area. Does any one know who makes one? Looks like a Hansen or others? Thanks

i personally would skip the aluminum bumper. lighter weight maybe, but it wouldnt hold up to ANY abuse.
did you mean chrome? yikes.

It looked like 1/4 inch and was satin polished. Not sure how it would hold up compared to steel 3/16?

it sounds like it was made to sell, not to provide more protection.

There are different grades of aluminum, they even use aluminum in suspension links that have a "memory" to them to go back to shape. these as well as the tie rods made out of aluminum will bend but go back to shape where as steel will just bend.. the bumpers do the job they are intended for., they protect the front and rear from hits. I don't think you'll see any sliders out there made from it, but don't let the type of material fool you, things aren't what they used to be. If I could coin up for a set of'm and loose some weight off the rig, I'd have no problem using them on the trail and abusing them.
