: Jump your Ftoy?

Ok so we are having a local racing gig and the course involves jump etc. What does it take to keep an Ftoy together if I want to jump it? What shocks? I have trussed axles and 6 shooter knuckles and I'm running TG 5" springs modified. I've been considering new shocks anyway so what would work well? I've also got suspension seats going in the rig this week as well.
I figure you KOH guys will have some really good input on this.

Bump stops are a must and the kingpin bearings in my rig never last long after jumping. I'd probably increase the preload on them.

Completely replace every nut, bolt, tie rod end and seal, even some fresh paint wouldn't hurt. That's what I did to my stock trussed housing before KOH and it held up fine. My rig never left the ground though, the poor little motor just couldn't make enough speed.

Yea...right about now you could use a v8....Well put all kidding aside your rig will do fine on that small track...on a tight track jumping is just showing off...keeping the wheels on the ground is the fastest way around

keep the wheels turning in the air. You will produce a gyro effect and keep the rig level in the air. similar to motorcross. If you need the front end to come down let off the gas or tap the breaks. If you need the nose up or see a hard landing gas it.
Last, commit to the jump. Once you are committed roll with it. If you pull out at the last minute you will end up nosediving and taking a hard landing.

I have been jumping a double on the motorcross track behind my house. I have a landing ramp and it makes the landing very plush when you hit it right.

You need to share some video of this :)

Dont have the ability to do video. Maybe some pics in the future.

It really sounds like more than it is. My son can almost jump the same jump on his predator 90 four wheeler. (didnt mean to make it sound like something awesome)

you ftoy is front heavy. you need some air bumps. if your housing slams into the bumpstop (assuming you have some), the housing will bend.

the rear needs bump stops too, but the front is more important because it will try to slam harder.

i would put the full 5" pack back in the ftoy aswell.

buy the most expesive shocks you can get, something more than 5150s. bypasses would be the ticket.

You like the BBCS's? I've been considering those.

Ask me how I know this is true. Bent 1 front housing and broke 1 rear on a motocross track. 36" +/- of air on flat landing. Get airbumps.

I was trying to jump my 4 seater last night at JV. I don't think I got over a foot of air. I have 2" Fox shocks with remote resivoirs on the front and BBCS shocks in the rear. I would deffinately suggest the air bumps if you could get them. I came down on the bump stops kind of hard a couple of times. I'm going to try revalving the front shocks later.

We're going to need pics of some big air.:D

That camera was not mine. The fancy one nor the $100 from Walgreens.
Maybe I can get them to come by and video it.
