I just can't decide between coil overs with 4 link, or a leaf suspension. Leafs will be a lot easier for me to do. But coil overs are better.
Someone please help me decide or talk me into one or the other.
Maybe tell me about handling with leafs or coils and so on advantages disadvantages...

go with leaves, easier to set up and about 10x less expensive...
plus heims and j joints don't like mud very much....
a buddy of mine still uses leaves on his rig and does as well or better than
the linked rigs...

if your talking about 4 link on the road,if it's set up wrong you can have horrible body roll...
with leaves you have a huge selection of ride quality by adding or subtracting individual leafs(different arcs) for lift etc. also adjustable shocks (like rancho 9000,bilstein)

leaves......no question. They are simple, work well in mud and require very little time investment/money to have a good road quality. remember, most rigs have been on leaf springs from the factory for years.

thanks leafs it is. I think there is just less to break that way too! And I can probably get it on the road a lot faster. Maybe a day of fab and im done? Also, what do you guys recommend for shocks? I also should I mount them like coil overs? just no hoop.

when i swapped from coils to leafs on my 78 f150 i had it rollin in 2 days on the street. doesnt take much, just figure everything out before you rip into it. unless you got a garage where it can sit for a couple nights then ya can take yer time.
as for shocks i just used my stock mounts on the side of the frame. but youll probably wanna do something different

I am not sure what there is for mounts right now. Whatever there is I might make new ones. But I will see. I will have to phone around for a nice set of leafs for front and rear:D But tomorrow im rebuilding the diffs if I can get the rugged bearings off... Maybe get them pressed off, be a lot easier. I broke one bearing already. Atleast it was the old one lol.
