Who out there has tube doors on their rigs and how did you work the latching mechanism. I would like to have them latch automatically and open by a cable actuator. Any ideas. I am putting them on a K-5 and the factory striker bolt does not leave too many options.:confused:

I know you didn't ask this but my vote is to use bolts..

make em suicide and both the back and wel a t handle on the front bolt so you can pull it out easier..


holesaw a hole to fit a peice of tube that fits a 5/8 bolt or bigger for strenght...you want these to hold a rock out in a roll..

for the rear use 1.5 tube 120 wall holesawed through the door barrs and use YJ spring bushings for the pivot...nothing fancy but works just fine..


that is my vote

i took a stock latch out of another set of doors
and bolted it to a plate
just push a lever on the latch and the door opens
pull the pins and the pipe doors come off and the regular doors go on
