: CalROCS '09 event dates
Skynnard 09-26-2008, 08:53 AM Event #1 April 25-26 Location TBA
Event #2 May 23-24 Location TBA
Event #3 June 27-28 @ Donner Ski Ranch
Event #4 Aug 1-2 Location TBA
This season we unfortunately scheduled our final the same time as the Pro-Rocks finals. This was not our intention as we would like to work with Pro-Rock for an annual Norcal-Socal shoot out. My apologies for the scheduling issues this season.
Thanks Glenn Bonner
Event #1 isn't that the Tinbender Jambo weekend?
I am hoping to make a couple of the Calrocs events in 09. Is there a class an ftoy would fit in?
Phil The Thrill 09-26-2008, 09:54 AM Hell yeah! Not the weekend of my fiance's birthday next year and nothing in September!
Unit 91 should be there all season.
fordori 09-26-2008, 09:56 AM they just ran with the pro-mod class. not to many f-toys at all I think trail gears f-toy came to the first event.
Skynnard 09-26-2008, 10:08 AM An F-Toy can fit in 4 different classes. 35" and under,36"-40" buggy, over 40" Sportsman, or if you think your badass the unlimited class. Pick your tire size. The first 3 classes I listed all require a front engine and side by side seating (2 seats side by side) no rear steer and there are no suspension or steering limitations other than (no forced articulation). If interested in competing please contact me personally via phone ASAP for details.
This winter the sportsman class may change a little not allowing some rigs to compete stay tuned for details

1uglyranger 09-26-2008, 12:00 PM When do you think the locations should be pinned down??
I'm sure all of Rage 4th will be there next year too...
Now if I can find someone to build me a new frame:(
Skynnard 09-26-2008, 02:29 PM We are working on Kirkwood for the Aug date with no time line for finalizing that.
We are looking at, at least 5 other locations from Reno to Redding to The Bay Area. We are also hoping to go back to Coloma during a cooler time of year if Archie didn't sell all the rocks and will let us back.
Nope no exact time line this is the best I can do at this point. We are currently building a bulletin board on CalROCS.com that I will keep updated. I'm not worried about having enough locations just picking the right ones

1uglyranger 09-26-2008, 02:54 PM Cool thanks:beer:
whitey 09-26-2008, 03:51 PM Already looking forward to it!!!

You guys gonna be looking at the Brown's Valley spot again? I love that location for no reason other than I have a free place to stay 10 min down the road
Schedule looks good though, finishes up nice and early.
ROK RNR 10-08-2008, 11:18 AM Glenn are these dates set in stone or are you able to change a little bit. I know that for people who are running we-rock to that the first date might be hard to make your event because it is the week before the second stop in Cedar City of we-rock and if they are worried about breaking they might not come to yours and risk breaking something they would not have time to get ready in 3 days to leave for Cedar City. If there is a couple of weeks between events then you have a greater chance of drawing as many competitors as possible. Just something to think about not telling you to change your schedule because you can't please everyone.
YELLOWHOBO 10-09-2008, 07:51 PM Nice to see the dates set!
S&T Motorsports will be there with the 3 stooges.
Hope to make all events this year.

Phil The Thrill 11-05-2008, 06:55 AM I think instead of the "COMPETITOR" shirts, next year you should have "DRIVER" and "SPOTTER" shirts.

We already know that...the driver is the clean shirt, and the spotter looks like he has been wrestling pigs all afternoon:flipoff2:
VXRICH 11-09-2008, 04:41 PM Any updates on locations??? Just trying to get plans set for next season....
Skynnard 11-14-2008, 08:33 AM  Sorry I haven't been on here lately, but I will let you know what I know. First, Kirkwood is out, sure would have like to gone there. Too much red tape and then there was the Forest Service. Second, we will be returning to both Browns Valley and Donner Ski Ranch. Third, the Over 40" Sportsman class will have a minium width(we will have that # soon and will post it) outside of tire to out side of tire. Fourth, the Over 40" Sportsman class will change its title to the Trail Pro class. Fifth, there will be only one #22 in the Trail Pro class and if you are anybody other than Derek or Lisa with the #22 you will be forced to run in the Unlimited class:)
We are currently working on the marketing side of things, with this economy it means at least 5 times the amount of work to equal the same as last year which was not enough to cover costs. If you know of any businesses that would like to get involved with CalROCS please let me know. If you have questions please call the # below.
Thanks Glenn Bonner:smokin:
VXRICH 11-15-2008, 03:44 AM Thanx Glenn for the update bummer on Kirkwood that would have been awsome....Oh well B.V. is cool what about Coloma???

Dude, winning the surplus city event isn't really something to be bragging about...it's a man made course that any good driver could complete.:shaking:
But hope to see you at calROCS this year, what class are you going to run? I judge the full body 36-40 class...Just a word of advise...I LOVE budweiser!!!:flipoff2:

being the only ones to complete their course and then almost complete in reverse should get ya some respect, man made or not.
Get that dam thing done and stop looking at that computer screen. You have a lot to make up for. As far as man made Browns Valley is a lot of stacked stuff also. Not all Cal roks is but that stuff is.
