have you tried?

I know guys who have tried them in their buggies with rockwells and 49's. They end up blowing trannies out as you put so much stress with a line-loc to build boost. Plus the weight is outrageous.

Here's a link to vid of a 4bt buggy. They make decent wheel spin, it's just that they have no get-up-and-go.

On this next link, the last attempt (at the end of the video) is what it requires to make a 4bt give what it's got. The end result was that the next time he tried it he made it to the top, but blew out the tranny (not on the video)

I mean, if you're set on it, go ahead. It can be done to an xj, just would require more time and probably in the end wouldn't be very satisfying, but it could be capable (again, as long as you can hold the tranny together)

Don't get me wrong, the whole boost build up is pretty cool, I just wouldn't do it, especially with a motor that heavy to something with a unibody

Ive wheeled my 05 CTD wtih an auto and I hated it. I dont like how the tuubo builds up boost, it dumps then your tires spin and you loose your line.

Its like on or off. I was riding the brakes the whole time. To try and control the power.

All the smoke is not desireable either.

I was down at the Jeff Daniels jeep show in harlysville PA last weekend, they do alot of super clean 4bt swaps into older jeeps and tjs. What got my eye was a 4bt xj, im not goin to lie it was pretty sexy, looked like they really took there time on the thing... then i saw short arms:mad3:
