can anyone tell me if i will be wasting my money to buy a holley truckavenger or weber 36/36,or should i just go with the motor craft 2100? i have an 81cj7 with a stock 258.

MC 2100 hands down. The truck avenger sucks first and foremost and its too much carb for the 258. The weber runs decent but not as good as the 2100. Ive seen 2100s running with the vehicle flopped on its side. Find a way to hook up a high idle switch and even at the most extreme angles you shouldn't have any trouble keeping it running.

I run a modified carter, but if I didn't go that route, Id have a MC2100 on my rig for sure.

you would have to check the net or this board, I remember seeing something about it somewheres. On the carters its vacuum actuated, so its as simple as pulling vacuum from the intake.

MC2100 and don't look back. Best carb for the 258 off road hands down, and it's damn good on the street too. Tuned right, the fuel mileage is excellent.

Webers suck. They're okay if you'll only be driving it on the street, but even then I'd rather have the MC2100. I assume you'll be actually driving this thing offroad.

Getting that Holley would be idiotic for that motor.

Asides from fuel injection, I don't think there's a better option for the 258. Even then, I can't bring myself to do FI because the MC2100 works so well.

Try a 72 to 74ish jeep wagoneer with a 360 engine, I believe autozone was selling these for about 150.00.

Search around on the web. Lots of write ups regarding jeep swaps.
