You could probably get that much from another Dodge owner who ruined their rear doing something stupid, but not from a 4x4 enthusiast. I've often wondered how much an 80 can be shaved.

that's a big pumpkin brother you'd be dragging that ass pretty bad on the rocks unless you went big real big on the tires. I couldn't be that high up probably get a nose-bleed. Let us know if somebody buys it on E-bay I'd love to see some guy with a TJ and 31's but that.

We had the same rear end for sale out of a '97 Dodge for over a year found no buyers and ended up trading it to a salvage yard for a 8 lug 44 and 14 bolt combo.

The best thing we found to do with them is sell them to a pulling truck guy. They are always trying to something stronger and heavier.

Yup, that's a lot of jing for a rearend. Gonna have to find another dually Dodge that's blown his rear, or move that decimal point over one place to the left ;)

Down here there's an axle builder who was gonna sell that rearend for $800 complete to a guy who was in a bind and REALLY wanted it. Your buddy is asking WAY too much if he wants $1800. You'll have to find a complete fool in a bind to pull that much. The guy who wanted the one down here was a pulling truck guy who'd burnt up his previous D80 rear and needed a bolt in replacement.

About 1-1/4" is what I got out of mine.;)
And way too much money. I paid like $200.
