Anyone have any info on Wellsville, Ohio? I'm planning a wheeling trip there Aug. 17th. I would like to know if it is open and what is the cost to wheel? Any info at all would be appreciated!

we were there over July 4. there are two campgrounds and I was told that it was $8 a day to wheel/camp. they dug all the gravel out at the old RR entrance and you are now supposed to go in through one of the campgrounds.
They have definately been working on the area and I think that $8 a day really isn't that bad. That being said, we hopped the tracks and camped the first night we were there and they were not issuing stickers or passes of any kind at the campgrounds.

not to start a war but, if the 8 bones a day aint bad, why did you avoid it? i will pay when i go, enough people paying will show the owner's we want this land for our use.... and lets face it money is what does the talkin....

It's not the money that is an issue of why I avoid it. The fact of the matter is that the "landowner" with the campgroud owns very few acres of the available land. If the majority land owner wanted to start charging, I would have no problem at all coughing up a few bucks. Also, what I think is bullshit, the "landowner" in question also charges for passengers.

I'll be there on Sunday (18AUG02) with probably 12 or so vehicles.

I'm thinking of going up on the 24th to Wellsville for a day trip. Is there any place to park my tow rig & trailer?

Do I have to get a campsite for the day? Or are there other places nearby to park?
