ok ive read some of the posts about forklift orbitals and i know they work. does anyone have a part number or specs on one that works well with a 2" ram. i need info such as which orbital pushes the correct amount of fluid, and 3-4 turns lock to lock, etc. if anyone has any info or can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

if you are using a 2x8 ram, then a 7.4 cubic inch valve will work well.

^Cheapest non-used orbital I could find.
The formula to calculate turns lock to lock is as follows:
"volume of cylinder" divided by "displacement of orbital" equals "turns lock to lock"
to calculate the volume of your cylinder, the formula is
3.14 times "half the bore" times "half the bore" equals cylinder volume
you take half of the diameter of the bore(2x8 ram is 2 inch bore, so half is 1 inch), so you multiply "3.14" times "half of your bore" times "half of your bore". that equals 3.14.
3.14 x 1 x 1= 3.14
Now you multiply that by the stroke, 8 inches. this equals 25.12, which is the volume of cylinder.
Now put that into the first formula.
25.12 divided by 7.4 equals 3.4 turns lock to lock, which is damned perfect.

this might be a better choice, although it is more expensive.
it is a load reacting unit, meaning the vehicle will return to straight if you let go of the wheel as you drive.

Non load reactive NLR will not return to straight.

Remember load reactive only works in a balanced system.

thanks for the response guys. im really looking to get one off a forklift bc well its free! so ill just talk to the guy and see what he recommends. do you know the rate of fluid flow in those that you recommended?
