I need to sit down tonight and do some serious number crunching. at 490 and 550 respectively the CMMG has a greater profit. Too many online places sell the stag for 2h. According to the folks at Stag that I talked to these other places are paying the same price I am so they are just doing mass volume. Stag and CMMG have very similar costs. CMMG quality is slightly better but stag includes a nice rear site. Add the same site to the CMMG and the price jumps to 635.

CMMG and Stag both charge shipping to me but I believe when its all said and done I can make a couple buck off each kit. Definately have to have cash vs credit pricing.

But anyway I think I can pull this off with out loosing money.

You might think about offering them sans the LPK and stock, I know some of us have quite a few built lowers and don't need any more lower parts.

Maybe you could offer a something in a 20" or longer as well.

I think you should just do three different kits that range from budget setup, medium, and not super high end but a bit higher. People can pick from the three, that makes it easier for you to get the parts and the deals. If they want other options then they can buy them separately but I like the idea of the sale theme and think you should stick with it. Maybe a quick rundown with picks of each of the setups would be nice for those that are no up on the AR kits.

You will be able to have a complete, CA legal carbine, with magazines, and sights, and slings.

Double Star is very good quality. Except for the RRA 2-stage trigger and a BCM bolt my space gun is all DS parts.

CMMG does do some testing that the others don't do. they also have a midlength gas system which is more reliable then the carbine gas system. I do think their parts are worth slightly more money.

The way the sale is going to work is there will be 3 different packages at three different price points.
DS-Stag-CMMG is order of price from low to high.
Stag and CMMG do not offer 'kits' so they idea I had was to offer kits, but some people only want the complete uppers.

In the store you will pick the upper you want. (DS upper should be 300)
If you want to add on the lower parts kit and a butstock you will be able to. ( might also have the option to have Magpul MOE stocks and grips) (ds parts will be 100)
If you also need to add on a stripped lower receiver, you can. (ds 95)
If you purchase all three of those items it will include a simple army black nylon sling.
If you need it assembled I will do that for free before shipping.
For CA if you want it assembled you will need to buy the 25$ maglock.
if you need a rear sight you can add that on. (50 for a carry handle, 75 for flip up sight)
All of those items are going to be at a special reduced price.

it will not be possible to just buy DS lowers for 95$, they are part of the kit. Same with the rear sight options, they will be at reduced prices and you can only get one sight/carry handle per kit.

For each package, all of the parts come from that manufacturer.

The price of the package includes free shipping to CONUS. You may add on as many other normally priced items to the order you want and still get free shipping.

For PBB members only if you spend over 500 I will be throwing in a free Pmag.

It is taking a little bit of time to get all the options and stuff worked out with the shopping cart system, but I plan on making it live this weekend.

Again Stag and CMMG do not offer kits. There is a company that sells cmmg made parts as a kit, but the barrels are not CMMG marked, and don't go through the same test process. they are still good parts, but not a true CMMG "kit"

I think you are thinking of AR-10 style weapons. As far as I know, all .223/5.56 AR-15 clones will feed from milspec mags.

Regarding the magazines, suposedly when the PMags first came out there was an issue. I think the bushmaster carbon also had some mag issues.

I know for a fact that USGI, PMags, C-Pro 10rd aluminums, and the brownells 30rd milspecs all work with out issue in all of these lowers.

So I can work out the cmmg upper/lpk/stock for 100$ cheaper then you can buy it all straight from CMMG. And there is free shipping.

This is MO price. With credit card its 635.

From CMMG this same set up would run 710 plus shipping.

Uppers are 575, LPK 60 and Stock 75, so basically if you pay with CC you get the stock free.

It pretty difficult to set up just a upper deal.
What I am thinking is to maybe sell the upper for like 550 and then the lpk for 25 and the stock for 35.

Many people have been asking for a complete carbine kit using either CMMG or Stag parts. Neither of these companies produce a complete kit themselves, even though you can purchase the items individually.

So what we have done is to put together some 16” carbines kits. And as a way to introduce them we are doing a special sale between now and the election.
There are four different kits.
For each kit purchased you can also get a stripped receiver at a special lower then our normal prices.

How far out? Pete also sells the Millet DMS-1 and a mount for it. Those are pretty sweet optics, and I believe it magnifies 1-4x.

Stag is saying <2weeks on the uppers. DS is the same. CMMG is saying 2-3weeks, but so far its been 10 business days.

You should be able to sell the LPK for 50 and the stock assy for 65-70.
But if you don't need them, then just order the Upper from the regular store. CMMGs are 550

There are no 20" barrels, no customizing your upper with micro gas blocks, etc. Hell he is even offering to assembly lowers for free, what the hell could be better than that? yes thats the one he uses for the tapped with set screw setup. I like it because it seems closer to conforming to the law completely.

The Prince 50 uses the set screw and the BB uses the bullet as a tool. There is a large discussion on Cal Guns on which is better... IIRC on one hand when the set screw is in on the Prince 50 then the mag is not removable, but it could be loosened when in CA making it illegal. As for the BB you always have to use a tool or bullet which is defined as a tool by CA law. It is whatever you are most comfortable with.

I use Bob Snellings in Sacramento. He's a fantastic no BS guy and is very AR friendy. But I cant believe you cant find something closer to Livermore. I'm sure Pete will correct me if I'm wrong, but he'll ship to any approved FFL. Just go to Calguns and find the FFL list, pick your local guy and go for it. Call the FFL first and give them a heads up though on what you're doing and how much they charge.

I haven't started looking around yet. I only decided to "go for it" and buy this weekend so I hadn't bothered checking around yet.

Being AR friendly doesn't mean they wont charge you 100 or mor for a trasnfer. :)

Local shop was going to charge me sales tax on the item, based on the value they sell the item for. They threw some law that its required by law. Which of course it isn't. At least here in CO.

One step closer to getting that order placed.

Rogers Relics in Santa Clara is who I use and Pete already has their FFL info if your willing to travel. If I remember correctly it was $65 or $85

Actually I had a shipment of 26 CMMG uppers arrive on Monday, but my boxes didn't show up until yesterday.

Oh and CMMG fawked up. All the uppers have the SA bolt carrier :mad: so I am waiting on the replacements.

Stags and DS have been shipping out from me in under 3 weeks so doing good there. 10 more DS uppers arrived yesterday.
More stags showing up tomorrow.

If the CMMG carriers arrive tomorrow I will have a busy weekend, but Saturday marks the third week since the sale started so I am not stressed yet, or worried about the carrier set back.

The advantage of the "auto" bolt carrier is that it has a protected firing pin. The back end of the firing pin is covered and the underside of the carrier is cocking the hammer while firing.
With a "semi" bolt carrier, the hammer is initially pushed towards being cocked by the backside of the firing pin, and can cause the firing pin retaining pin to bend or break over time. The "semi" bolt carriers work fine, but the "auto" carrier is better.

Slightly heavier carrier, better for the carbine gas systems. Not such a big deal with the ML and rifle.

That's pretty shitty of them to replace the carriers with an inferior unit, without giving you any sort of notice beforehand. I'd be a little more than pissed too.

You should find an FFL and co nfirm how much they charge to trasnfer. Then ask them to fax a copy to me.

Place your order on my website. There is a spot to enter the ffl info and you are given the fax number.

I need a faxed/mailed/email signed copy of the their ffl prior to sending

Midlength gas system is two inches longer then carb.

Carb is 7, ML 9, rifle is 12

Longer gas system is more reliable. Less recoil.

That being said, what IS the difference? I mean, I see the picture and the red crayola, but what does that mean in the overall picture? How does that change the handling/accuarcy of any given rifle?

Bob has been gone for a month. Should be back now. He runs a transfer only shop in the back room of a warehouse, but sells a few things here and there. He only works Mondays and Thursdays 10-2.

Can I add a bullet button to a midlength order? I am using a Stag lower I bought from you earlier this year. I cannot find the button listed anywhere and it is not an option like the other kits in the assbly pull down. I was just going to add it in the notes at checkout and include an extra $30.
