Erich In AZ 08-05-2002, 01:26 PM What kind of riding are you planning on doing? Banshee's lend themselves to being run WOT a lot (2 stroke) where the warriors tend to be more at home on the trails lugging around.
Hawaii500_1999 08-05-2002, 03:16 PM the banshee will be faster than the warrior no matter how much you weigh.
but like erich said it depends on what kind of riding you want to do.
a banshee would require more skill in the dirt than the warrior. they are pipey especialy with the toomey pipes.
2000 is a steel for a running banshee though. i'd buy it and ride it. you can sell it for more and buy a warrior if you don't like it.
bigman22 08-05-2002, 06:23 PM well my kind of riding would be trails sometimes dunes i want to get a warrior but i found that banshee, that is a good idea hawaii500 though buy it and if i dont like it,sell it for more also did u see the pic of it,well anyways i am gonna keep looking around.....i just found a 98 warrior for $2399.

Hawaii500_1999 08-06-2002, 03:03 PM yeah i say the picture. it looks good. sounds like a steel. i bought mine used for 5,000. it's a 1999 and i bought it in 2000. i thought that was a screeming deal. i even drove for a 13 hour round trip to get it. at the time i was looking the cheapest one i saw was 3,200. and that was a wiped a$$ 88. i think the prices droped a bit when the crapters or i mean raptors came out.
the warrior i rode carried me almost everywhere i wanted to go in the sand, but it just didn't excite me much. i'm sure it would do fine in the the dirt.
Hawaii500_1999 08-06-2002, 03:31 PM also another thing. this might sound bad, but if the banshee is too pipey,(with the toomeys) the stock exhaust will bring back some low end and take a lot of the snap out of the power band which will be more managable in the dirt. also the stock exhaust has spark arresters. toomey's don't. you have to buy sparkys for toomeys.
if you do get that banshee try and get the stock exhaust. if not i see them on e-bay now and then for like 10 or 20 bucks.
with the stock exhaust the banshee is extremley quite too. more so than the warrior.
bigman22 08-06-2002, 05:05 PM a friend drives a raptor....i wanna keep up wiht him on the trial

Oh, if that's the case, just get an 80cc bike. It'll keep up with the raptor.

bigman22 08-07-2002, 11:53 AM haah good one.......haha im gonan ahve to show him that!!!!
eric
Hawaii500_1999 08-08-2002, 08:46 AM a stock raptor will beat a stock banshee.
but with the toomey pipes on that banshee you will blow that raptor away.
he would have to realy pump his raptor up a lot to keep up with a banshee with pipes alone.
bigman22 08-08-2002, 09:20 AM yeah he is getting the alien system for his bday......he rolled it last night and cracked his front fender!lol but it was fun to watch
eric
Hawaii500_1999 08-08-2002, 10:04 AM you should still be able to keep up with him just fine with any mods that he does.
last time i was at sand mountain, nevada. the two trinity pumped up quads were out on drag hill trying to show everyone up.
one was a really fast banshee.
the other was a really pumped up raptor. the raptor was beating a lot of mild modified banshees. i repetivley spanked him though. granted i have a 370 long rod motor, but i am running stock everything else,(swingarm, ignition, etc.) that raptor was really pumped. he came closer than any other raptor i've raced.
if you get your banshee ported that raptor will be have a very hard time keeping up.
Chewbacca 08-10-2002, 11:04 PM eric, Dave's stuff is top notch. That banshee is no doubt in primo shape and has never been beat on. Everything Dave works on is top notch too, he is meticulous about his stuff...He's into RC Cars, Jeeps (his rocks), motoX, quads and everything he has is perfectly setup.
I bought his RM250 and I am super happy with it, he was very upfront about everything that he did to it..
Get it, then GET IT!
