: Only one Zuk at the Hammers this weekend...

Where was everybody, getting ready for SOR or what? I bounced it through Outer Limits and Sledge Hammer without breaking, but it fell over a coupla times! I didn't hold the group up too much, never strapped up to anyone, and earned some respect (a little!). Most were in Toys.

Randy switched with me and let me drive his Yota halfway through Sledge. He's an excellent driver and adapted to the short wheelbase fine. He went from twin cases, ARB'd Dana 60's, and 38.5's to my GRSII'd, locked stock 3:73 axles, and 32's. But I do have the 1.6 big block! He was "gettin it" with a rig that wasn't as easy to drive, that's fer sure.

I also tried to "bicycle" the Zuk around the lake but could only get it for about 50'. I think the tires, suspension and steering play were the reason I didn't stay on two wheels. I was supposed to do some "stoppies" but I got too lazy and didn't feel like removing the rear shocks. Camo was supposed to try all that shit too but he passed out like a 14 year old girl after a hard night of drinking. Dallas was the only one that wanted a ride when I was trying to bicycle it...should have pics soon.

The Benders are a rough crowd, most of 'em probably just got out of jail. And they don't get mad at you when you aim fireworks at them. It was a blast...literally!

Are not, we are the calmest, nicest, easiest going people you'll ever meet. Nice meeting you Steve, it was cool watching you lay that thing on it's side on OL. :D

It is, by far, the most extreme wheelin I've ever seen. BRING SPARES! Also, it's not cool to break down and hold the group up for something that shoulda been fixed BEFORE you came out, cause this place will find the weakest link and usually on the first obstacle. These guys will help you fix your shit, but they get pissed when you don't bring tools and spares. Just come as well prepared as you can be, expect to have some difficulties, and you will be hooked for life, or you will never wanna hear the word "Hammers" again!

I've been twice now. The first time my spring pad crushed the axle tube and I had to throw away the front bumper. The second time I just did some body damage. The bottom of my axles are taking a beating, "protection down there is a must." That's probably not the first time you've heard that!

Looks like you read into shit too much.....I hear the Hammers is hard....guys like to call the con easy, 32"s on the con is going to have you dragging ass all over the rocks, see my point yet? sure 32" will work on the con, but if they were fine, you wouldn't see so many 38"s, I thought my 35" were to small last 2 trips so I'v gone 38"s, I don't care if you have 225/70's post all you want, but giving me shit cause I asked something? if you subscribe to the "it's a thiuck skin bb" fine play the game, kids do like to play....you can post without just wanting you post count higher you now...........so yes, you posted a useless comment, it's useless and you are entitled to it, but post it on chit chat, it's not relevent here, this is tech, I want to know are all the trails at the hammers hard, and if so how do 32"s make it then, or was he on an easy trail????

Here let me add this.
I have been to JU looking at the Jeep Liberity section. They will talk about there hard core offroad trip and how they pulled someone else less equiped out and how they really wheeled it up, with 32's..............now I know the Hammers is Hardcore, cause I read it here:D What I want to know is like above how are ya wheeling with 32"s there ? not a smartass question, if you read someone was hardcore wheeling there liberty with 32"s would it not make you go "Hmmmmmmmmmmmm":D

Hammers are hard, even harder on 32"s. It's different based on track width and wheelbase. I did Sledge a couple of years ago on 33"s, did it this last weekend on 37"s; totally different experience, a lot easier.

Thanks Todd.........So tell me, at the Hammers do you have a entrice point and exit like the con, or is it different? I get the idea it's not like that.Thinking
I might want to tow down there someday, are tow rigs safe there or are they broke into like 4dyce?

I saw you and your rig in the little sluce and the hammers will kick your ASS:flipoff2:

Chris' sammy may be small but its got power, lockers and a geared t-case. And Chris knows how to wheelie it up and over the rocks at will.

I have a 4.3L how much power do you think I need:flipoff2: I think you saw that other sam on 33"s get stuck, on it's 2nd run through. I made it my 1st trip open front, broke both birfs open 2nd trip.....I'm welded front and reaqr with hydro assist now:D Hammers may still kik my ass though.........from the stories I hear, it don't sound all that fun, sounds like just allot of breakage

Yeah, maybe I did read to much into it, but it sounded to me like you were smacking him down for running such a "small" tire. What's striking however is that you feel a need to mount such a strong defense, or like most, you could've let it roll off your back. Now its chit chat. Enjoy your 38's:flipoff2:

There are multiple lines available through out the trail ranging from hard to Camo ridiculous. Tow rigs are safe as far as I know, most people are out running and you're a couple of miles off of the main road. Why don't you drag down for Roxy's Birthday and give it a shot.

What tell the con is covered with snow, then come on down and have a good ol' time.

Emievil (Chris) is a very good driver. You might want to look for his posts in the general area of this board for some pictures of him driving his Samurai on 2 wheels out in the dry lake bed. I have done a few trips with him now, and he does have some impressive driving skills. He is willing to take a fair amount of risk to the vehicle, and it works for him. I think he layed it over twice that weekend in the Hammers. He is currently collecting parts for a next stage of build up. Toy axles and power steering. (Yep, Hammers with no power steering.) I have never seen anyone else drive quite like Chris does. He can pull that thing up on the rear axle, and feather the throttle and hold it there like a motor cycle (His professional motorcross background shining through). He drives it like a bike.

You can put all the fancy do-dads on your rig, but you need to have driving skills to make it all work. Chris may not have all of the do-dads, but he has the skills.
