Hi all,
My little 4 banger 95' YJ is having charging issues. About a week ago I got a check engine light and about a day later the jeep didn't have enough power to turn over the engine( clicking sound when key is turned). So I pulled the alternator and battery and had them tested at autozone, the alternator was said to be good and the battery said to be bad, I bought a new optima red top and installed it along with my old alternator. Still had a check engine light. So I had the local auto shop scan the computer for trouble codes, 33 ( code for A/C clutch relay) and 47 ( charging). So I concluded that if it is a charging problem it must be the alternator or maybe the voltage regulator inside the alternator either way would be fixed by installing a new alternator. I installed the new alternator and still I get a check engine light. Is there maybe a charging problem still or do I just need to clear the codes? Thanks.
