I am looking to shave the UCA mounts on my xj and weld up a bracket to run LCA's as a uca.......

are those daan 30 uca mounts cast or steel?
is this a waste of time and space?

The left hand side is cast as one with the pumpkin, the right hand side are steel brackets welded to the tube.
