Ok, here is a long shot. Long story kinda short. Friend was killed 3 months ago. His son is turning 6 next week. I don't know what to get him. (see this thread http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=720378 ).

Last night, his mom tells me that he really wants some bb gun targets. However, what he really wants is some kind of target that has exploding paint in it so he can see where his bb hit the target. According to little 5 soon to be 6 year old Wyatt, he has seen these somewhere, but doesn't remember where, and his mom has no idea what he is talking about. At this point, google owns me. I can't find any kind of target that would leave a mark so that you can see easily where the bb hit it.

Sooo, any ideas???

yes not as good ,but they do work

Shoot and see's would be my first guess. Available in all kinds of sizes and shapes at your local sporting goods place.

I dont rember if there were any links to ones with paint.

BBs ain't gonna work with those. and the bang is a bit too big for those close distances.

I use some cheap ass ones I got at Gander mountain for my pellet gun and they work great.

Make him some cartoon zombie targets and glue a paintball to their heads!

I saw some things that looked like little - maybe 2" across clay pigeons. you could even get little holders that you stick inthe ground. don't remember the name of it though.

Ok, I think we figured it out. I started doing a search for shoot and see, and I came across a traget that daisy makes called shoot-n-c for air rifles. After talking to his mom, that sounds like what he was talking about. I can't find the Daisy brand locally, but Amanda found them at the local k-mart.

you could also throw together a frame to hold these targets w/ some tin (angling down to thwart riquoche') behind the target, so he gets some reactive sound from a hit also. Might take a little development to get the angle right so the BB's don't bounce back at him.

Anybody tried stapling some ketchup/hot sauce packets to the target. Not sure if they will splatter with a BB- but they may appear to bleed. Put a few of those on the above mentioned zombie target!
