: advantages of waggie springs????
rudyYJ 08-05-2002, 04:26 PM I hate to ask what appears to be such a newbie question but...
why? what are the advantages. good for SUA? i did a search and the subject on HOW TO and WHAT are covered really well but my question is WHY?
scott (newbie- ready for the fire)
rkcrawl 08-05-2002, 04:34 PM I don't run them, but from what I gather:
1) Good for SOA applications
2) Spring pin is offset toward one of the spring eyes, so you can stretch the wheel base a few inches simply be running these springs.
And welcome Newbie :flipoff2:
Jeepmangled87 08-05-2002, 04:56 PM they flex well, any one know how much lift they provide SOA?

From what I understand the stock waggy spring will net about 2" of lift over a stock YJ spring and the 44044 will be about the same as a 4" YJ spring...HTH
rudyYJ 08-05-2002, 06:01 PM how about lift for SUA
Taso Stambolis 08-05-2002, 06:38 PM I've heard 1.5-2" of lift.

Insayn 08-05-2002, 07:11 PM I got about 1-2" in a SOA setup. They flex quite well, are real soft and I can find them locally for $10 a spring so when I kill it I can get them cheap.
I also netted 5" in my wheelbase with them all around (I redrilled the front perch centering hole). I did have to cut the rear wheel well out.

how much further did you put the front axle? what do you do about the steering?
thanks

rudyYJ 08-05-2002, 08:57 PM agreeing with the slut on where the tread has lead.
so advantages are:
1 increase wheelbase
2 flex well
3 cheap
only question not answered is does it work SUA?
scott (yes, i know goSOA)

No reason why it wouldn't - it's just that there are probably very few people on this board that would bother with 2 inches of SUA lift.
4004ever 08-06-2002, 09:49 AM Waggy's are great when running a 8.8 cause, they allow the diff to hit the gas tank:eek:
Unless of course you cut and reweld the spring hangers.:D

I used to run an 8.8 and my diff. cover hit with stock center pins relocated only .75" on the spring pad:rolleyes:
