Your raised Tube rockers, why didnt you run straight tubes down to the frame?
You could get alittle more clearance under the rocker like this. and you add plate to it to slide on.

It's been cut up quite a bit but I was still nervous when it came time go that far.

straight tube was the idea at first but the angle was real steep. would have made for a real long angled cut on the tube to attach to frame stiffener. I probably should have made the lower tubes wider to make that work out better but the way it is seemed like a decent solution to keep going with the pieces I had. Trying to keep down on wasted pieces. Still planning on skinning it eventualy. Hopefully it works out ok.

no but I'll take a few. Probably won't be until this weekend. It's already dark by the time I get home from work now.

those 2 a/c condensers for your trans and steering coolers?

no, the bottom cooler is a trans cooler off an '04 F-150 and I don't remember what the other one came off.

no it probably won't come out the top. I could drop it out the bottom, but I hope the need to never comes. If the 4.0 ever self destructs it'll be time to drop in a real motor.:D:D

What a peach. What are the specs on the tube, and how much did you end up using?

tube is 1.75 .120 wall. ended up using 10 sticks with some big pieces left over.

What hoses and pipe did you use to route it to the rear?????

metal lines are 1.5" conduit, and I got the rubber flex lines from summit. some of the flex lines have different size ends built in to adapt to the tube and radiator.

so why did you keep any of the old XJ? Looks like you've just built a buggy around your old drivetrain?

because I already had the XJ, drivetrain and front suspension worked good, it needed the rear suspenion rebuilt and a cage installed to continue to wheel safely, I have never done any tube work before, if I were going to build a buggy it would have been very different, it would have cost alot more money, it would have taken a very long time, and the list can go on and on.....

I think that was the point. Gotta start somewhere right?

Rigs looking sweet Nature....hood and cage work look great!

ok so I was in a huge rush to get it drivable so I could go wheelin' before I needed to get the sleds out for the winter and got a little distracted with all the snow we've been gettin'. so heres some updates.....

waited along time for these but it was definately worth the wait

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=207&pictureid=2960

got the links done and threw the air shocks on for some clearance checks tires get a little close to the shock body on the stuffed side when its fully flexed. i'll just have to keep an eye on it.

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=207&pictureid=2962

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=207&pictureid=2963

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=207&pictureid=2964

then loaded up and went for a little test run

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=207&pictureid=2966

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=207&pictureid=2967

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=207&pictureid=2972

that was the short version of the trial runs. it took quite a few and i finally got the shocks tuned in close enough for now.

last time out i broke my first stub shaft since i put the D60 in, it was only a 30 spline. looks like it's time for new shafts and maybe some drive flanges.

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=207&pictureid=2974

still got lots i wanna do but i'll probly end up wheelin' it the way it is for now.
