Yup, what he said, but in '50 you could have a Dana 44 rear, still two piece like the Dana 41, you can swap in flanged shafts from a late 60's early 70's CJ-5 Dana 44 into either axle. Keep in mind that most flatties have been switched and swapped around and a "1950" Jeep could be a conglomeration of many different years and models, my '46 Willy's CJ-2A (that's what the previous owner thought and what the title says) turned out to be mostly '48-'50 CJ-3A and M38
