Someone has to make a bigger than 6" coil for a tj, (besides skyjacker-heard some bad things.) Running RE LA 6" (which really is a 5.5") one inch body ,1 3/4" spring spacers and 38tsl. would like to go 39.5's minus the spring spacers. Coilovers would be nice but too expensive for all four.

have 'em custom made. any racing/drag shop will do it or you can call a major company for it (does alcan or national do coils?)

this is the easiest way to go as you can also set your spring rate here.

Why go taller, just cut the sheet metal and keep the GC where its at. Just a thought :D

would like to keep the sheet metal till its paid for anyway. I know- I came this far why turn back now.

No racing shops around here that do spring work, so if anyone knows where to go to get coils custom made let me know. I think Alcan only does leaf-springs and I can't find a number on National.

Braden,
Have I wheeled with you before? Out at Creek Falls about a month ago with Flimmy and others? I know there was a TJ with us on 38's...
Ruffsdale's pretty damned close to me, and even closer to where I grew up (Yukon)....

Aren't 38's plenty big for what's around this pathetic area? :flipoff2:

Coil Spring Specialties: (785-437-2025)

I have no direct experience with them, but they should be worth checking out.

I am running 38's with only 4" springs on a TJ. However, my spring perches are moved. I prefer this way...get the lift needed for the 38's but don't have the long floppy springs.

I can't imagine 39.5s on a stock wheelbase. I would think it needs some stretching to go that tall and be stable:confused:

I thought RK only made a 5.5" coil and their 7" kit used a Body lift?

Why don't you use spacers or a body lift? Big Long flexy coils are not always good. Alot cheaper than new coils too.

Just a thought.

Hey I want to see some pics of this also, as I am contemplating something like this on another project. Thanks.
